Did Boris Johnson write the bit about the early bird?!
Clear as mud!

Did Boris Johnson write the bit about the early bird?! Clear as mud! You can still buy on or before 6th April if you so wish, but another window, probably shorter, will re-open at a time to be announced. Fairly clear that isn't it?

Did Boris Johnson write the bit about the early bird?! Clear as mud! It's unbelievable isn't it? "The deadline for Early Bird season cards for the 2020/21 season remains Tuesday, April 6 but the Club can confirm that the Early Bird sales period will reopen at date to be announced in due course."Eh?

Season tickets will remain on sale until 6th April after which point you won't be able to buy one until they announce that they are going on sale again.

My bro's a Villa fan & he told me they simply suspended their early bird season ticket sales at the time the game postponements started up a couple of weeks ago.
This seems a more realistic way of dealing with things especially as things stand this season wont be finished & no-one knows when the next season will begin. An expert from Germany has said it might be this time next year before we start to see footy matches starting up again, a piece I read on here yesterday! To keep on selling a product it doesnt know it can produce seems a pointless exercise right now. I'm guessing the fact that folk may have already purchased theirs maybe causing them some dilemmas at the moment. Do they refund or carry over?!
As things stand whilst yes I've every intention of renewing my season ticket, despite the poor season we've just had, it'll be when the times right to purchase & I know what I'm going to get. Payments are still currently going out for the 19-20 season ticket that isnt a product I'm currently receiving for obvious reasons. Of course I get the reasons why, but I think others will share the opinion that parting with hard earned cash at this moment in time for something we dont know when it'll even be starting up again isnt something I'm willing to commit to right now.

The 6th April date is no longer of any relevance though is it. Most people will read that and conclude they'll wait for more certainty that may be around when the new deadline is announced.

Will they? Some idiots are so loyal they'll rush out and get them on day 1. Some will buy just before or on 6th April because they know they will go whenever the season starts.

Good sentence or not, we all know what it means. The early bird offer will be available at a later date than currently advertised and if they don't mean to suggest that, they'll clear it up in due course. Is anyone really bothered?

This really isn’t acceptable.

It’s putting people who don’t know if they’ll have a job in a months time at odds with what they’d like to do. It has to change. It has to be suspended.

Who is it that normally makes a decision for you when there's something you would like to do, but your current situation isn't necessarily secure enough to support it? I think you need to be asking them to make the decision for you and/or others.

I think they are saying you can renew if you want to before April 6th but there will be another opportunity in due course with seats retained.
They are not likely having said that to put it open first if there is EB2?

They are not likely having said that to put it open first if there is EB2? This is the problem, it’s so unclear we’re all ‘thinking’ what it means. All they need to do is release a plain English statement like: - the current EB deadline of 6th April no longer applies - seats are secured for those who have already renewed - a new EB deadline will be announced in due course but until then, if you have not yet renewed you will not lose your seat and prices will not change - you may still renew before the new deadline is announced if you so wish - thank you for your patience and support blah blah

I'm reading it differently!!
They are saying that you cannot buy any tickets because the office is closed Despite this the EB deadline remains You will be able to buy them again at a later date before the unchanged deadline of 6th April, which is TBA

This exactly. I use the direct debit scheme to pay for my season ticket. On 1/03/2020 - I made my last payment to complete the balance. If I renew now, my payments will start again on the 1st April. As it stands we don't know when next season will start, it almost certainly won't be August as it normally would be so I will have paid £150+ by the time next season kicks off at the least. It'll likely be a lot later than that, and I just can't justify it with all the uncertainty at the minute.

I have requested clarification, however I am reading the statement as mamasgloves has. You can still buy online but as the ticket office is closed you can’t purchase via the Bet365 stadium currently. The deadline remains unchanged. The council have asked that this deadline is reviewed and extended and as soon as we get a response, it will be shared. Stay healthy everyone!
