Since all the coronavirus stuff and having to stay in a lot more, I seem to have lost control when it comes to eating and drinking!
I'm usually reasonably healthy, but I'm drinking more beer, wine, whisky, and loads of snacking on crisps, chochies etc.
Anyone else doing this, and what's the reason/pyschology behind this?

What's a cochie? I'm not from the potteries. Agree that with the worry and boredom it brings on comfort eating and drinking but its not the same as a pub crawl! Tried a local pubs carry out takeaway (real ale) but its not so nice pouring it out flat from an old orange squash bottle! Sticking to bottles and cans now.

Seriously if anyone has tips for how not to drink all day every day, hit me up. Turns out working from home is really not friendly to a borderline alcoholic.

If my girlfriend and kids weren't with me 24/7 then I'd most definitely be drinking more. In fact, if I were alone in isolation I'm sure I'd be drinking a lot more, eating junk food constantly and spending most of my time on the ps. It's what I tend to do when I 'used' to get free weekends to myself. Edit... Got a comment about me putting on weight yesterday. I don't think I'm necessarily eating more, but definitely much less active.

Am in isolation at work and whilst I do have keys to a fully stocked bar and restaurant have been good and only a pot of coffee on the go so far. I am lucky enough also to have a fully stocked shop and able to help myself, is just like having my own survival bunker. If Samantha Mumba is reading this and in the area and in need of some English muffins or a packet of Bisto , am willing to do some kind of trade deal.

I just don't have it in me to drink alcohol at home, aimed to have a bottle of wine the other night and just had a glass cause I thought it was pointless without being with my friends or girlfriend.

Nothing changed in our home other than it was difficult to get milk for a couple of days due to the hysterical folk. Things seem to have calmed down just walked up the local shop plenty of produce and not many customers.

Definitely snacking more since I started working from home. And no driving to work of a morning has led very quickly to two glasses of wine on school nights when I'd normally only drink anything Friday + Saturday nights. Not great.
On the other hand, a relaxed ciggie in the garden is a lot more pleasant than a swift drag in a wind-blown, rubbish-strewn alley outside work.
And the two hours I'm saving every day not having to drive to + from work is ace. I could spend them working, I suppose, but I work hard + long enough, I figure. So I'm using them to be productive at home + do stuff I've been putting off too long. Like painting the kitchen, building a vodka still + tapping a feed from the neighbours' electricity supplies.

Had to go office this morning to distribute a load of PPE and a 1 hour job became 7 hours so when got home I resorted to putting lager and wine in freezer to chill it quickly . Need to curb this cos will be a fat alcoholic if not careful. We had Florida trip planned at easter and confess that being canned has hit me pretty hard
OK I'll cheer up now lol

I think I'm eating/drinking more because I was going on hols in a few weeks time, and I would have stuffed myself silly. I'm not going now, so I've got lots of spare calories I can have now!

Put on a massive, hideous costume to scare your kids and make them queue for 4 hours to sit on your garden swing.

This weather makes s beer in the garden crucial. Especially when you can’t go the pub.

Shamelessly stolen from somewhere else;
"I got so pissed last night I couldn't remember coming home from the kitchen ".
Tickled me.

I don't drink alcohol anyway, but my chocolate intake has increased. I either eat none or loads. I find going out for a run or walk (at least 45 minutes) helps make me feel better. I cycled/ran to work until quarantine - only short distances, so I've upped the running distance.

My Daughters has given up meat for Lent. My other daughter is fussy about what meat she eat. My wife is veggie. So what with the shortage of meat, Me & the boy have calmed down on our intake. I don’t mind though.

Surprisingly, I'm doing less of both. However, tonight I'll be having a quart can of the Prison City Brewing IPA 3-pack that my brother left me back in December. It should dull my senses enough while I watch something worthless on TV. It's 7.1% alcohol by volume (way too damn strong), so yeah I'll be heading and then staggering to the toilet throughout the evening. Here's their website, go ahead and click on it, what else you got to do? Prison City Brewing

I can quite often go until 8pm before I eat a thing in a normal working day (very unhealthy I know). I like a drink but rarely drink at home. Started working from home last Wednesday and I can't keep out of the fridge and don't think I've gone a day without alcohol. If this isolating goes on much longer I'm going to be a right fat fuck.

Boredom eating is hard work lads, it's hard to control when it's in the house.
My best advice is literally don't buy anything shit when shopping. It's much easier to resist in the supermarkets than it is in the house

Just have all the family wear shit from Sports Direct, in particular anything with “ Lonsdale” on it, as well as sandals with socks.
