I disagree with Jacobsen. Cherno Samba was a real monster striker in youth football. He might have become a star, at least Millwall level, but his unfortunate off field battles derailed him.

Championship Manager 01/02 has been legally available for free for years, and fans keep it updated with current playing squads.

I blame Champ Manager for me taking so long to lose my virginity.

Indeed, after this point I thought it started to get too involved, and 01/02 is a good balance. A work colleague insists seasons on the latest Football Manager can be rattled through just as fast though...

Best and most simplest version. Indeed, after this point I thought it started to get too involved, and 01/02 is a good balance. A work colleague insists seasons on the latest Football Manager can be rattled through just as fast though... I've got FM20, takes me around 3 days play a season, takes less than a day on cm01/02. Had every single version of Champ and FM since the very beginning. CM01/02 is the only version I've ever gone back and play. Don't get me wrong some things on the newer versions I miss when I play 01/02 but for fun and speed, can't beat it. The 3d engine still doesn't quite work, but I do like the more advance tactics on '20. Never been interested in training, most of my responsibilities I delegate as I have no interest in doing them. My favourite ever save was on 01/02. My brother and I had a save where whoever had Alan Shearer won the league, we kept selling him to each other thinking that was his last season, then won it for the other. Ended up playing something like 30 seasons. Was a brilliant save. On the newer versions, lucky if I do 5 seasons.

After talking about it, decided to start a new cm01/02 save. Not updated teams, so I'm Stoke in division 1 owned by the Icelandics. Mighty Shtaniuk at the back, Gunnarsson in midfield, Hoekstra down the left and a strike force of Iwelumo, Cooke and Greenacre battling it out to be my front 2.

Sign Meysam Javan, he was my go to striker in that game. Swedish player who bags for fun and accepts incredibly small wages without complaining.

Apparently you can get CM0102 running on Android devices like a phone or tablet. Never tried it:

FM2020 is so bloody long winded. Any tips for success with Stoke? Vokes is actually good on it if you play with wingers he will score, I’m not even halfway through the season and he has 12. Tahith Chong is a beast!!

FM2020 is so bloody long winded. Any tips for success with Stoke? Im playing a 4231 and am currently 3rd after 23 games. Won 17 D2 L4 not using any particular tactical instructions other than playing balanced attack. Top scorer is Campbell on 13. Ince has got 9 and a spread between the others. Oakley Booth's ratings jump the more he plays.

I’ve gone back to 01/02..... way harder than I remembered! Been sacked 3 times & the board keep reducing my transfer budget!
It’s all very Keegan-esque at the moment, lots of games finishing 4+ goals. I’m sat in 12th with Vale top of the league, bastards!
Couldn’t get a work permit for N’Diaye or Okoronkwo & the board cancelled my deal for To Madeira as it was ‘unrealistic’.....he then joined somebody else!
Given Foster a fun of games, but all in all our squad is pretty poor!

Tahith Chong is a beast!! I brought Vokes in the team after not playing him (with wingers Verlinden/McClean) and he scored 2 goals first game.....Bingo!...Thanks I missed out on Chong though!

Been having a go of FM20 the last couple of days. Currently 40 games into the season & the table is... Leeds 84 Fulham 83 --- Brentford 76 Wigan 76 Preston 67 Stoke 67 --- QPR 66 Bristol City 66 Swansea 62 WBA 60 My usual starting eleven is... Butland; Smith, Shawcross, Martins-Indi, Tymon; Allen, Clucas; Ince, Powell, Verlinden; Campbell. Campbell, Vokes & Gregory have all had their share upfront & all been bang average. Ince is my top scorer but has gone quite lately. Verlinden has been on fire whenever he can drag himself away from the injury table, same goes for Powell. My big problem is money. I've signed no-one, sold Diouf & Lindsay, terminated Chester's loan... When I arrived at the club in August the bank balance was £8m, sat here in April & we're now on minus £17m... If we don't go up via the play-offs we're fucked!
