I've got a lot of respect for Colin Murray. He resigned from Talksport when Murdoch took over saying "as a Liverpool fan he couldn't work for him". Priciples. Unlike professional scousers like Quinny, etc. His interviews are usually good concentrating on the subject rather than himself. His interview with Harry Gregg is well worth a listen.

He was the only presenter I could listen to on Talksport. He’s a really good broadcaster.

This is a great interview. The then owners of Shamrock Rovers sold the ground to developers, rendering the club homeless. They ground-shared for years, but it all caused huge upheaval for the fans, and impacted very badly on the club generally, their ability to attract decent players and, inevitably, performances slumped. On the face of it, a manager whose career path involved Brechin, Shamrock Rovers and Northern Ireland was always going to draw large-scale disapproval from a Stoke faithful who, though their team was holding up the entire Championship, still somehow saw themselves as a Premiership club. However, you get some indication in the interview as to the scale of what M O'N achieved at Rovers, and how blessed we are to have him.
I can't be certain of this, but I doubt that he went looking for the Stoke job. I expect that he had to be approached, and have the job "sold" to him. If this is, in fact, true, whoever was involved in this deserves all the credit in the world. We have managed, somehow, to have bagged a very special one here.

He mentioned the dreaded V word (virus not Vale) early on, but I let it go... Very good listen

Sadly he didn’t mention why he hated the vale so much. Must be a 2 part episode and we’ll find out next week.

I loved the bit where he had to decide what direction to kick a game off. One side of the pitch was in the shade, and the other was in blazing sun/heat. He had a very fair skinned full back who would have melted on one side of the pitch!

Thing I liked about him was whilst he gutted to lose MON as manager of N Ireland you could see he was at the same time pleased he'd landed a league job. Really is a good presenter and knows his football. Our game was first on his show a bit surprisingly before the season was stopped, think we may be getting the Gary Lineker, MOTD treatment a bit. Huge fan of MON and really looking forward to him having a whole season with us.

With the talent we have coming through at under-age level, and given the performances the current crop have produced since Christmas, we have every reason to be confident that we can challenge for, at least, a play-off spot next year. A lot will depend on how this season is resolved. If the season was to end now, and the top two from the Championship are awarded promotion, with no relegation from the Premier League, I would really start to fancy our chances next year.
