Just been announced he/she/they died recently. Was never a fan but I'm sure there's someone on here who loved Throbbing Gristle/Psychic TV.

liked the Brian Jones tribute Godstar from the mid 80s. Championed the Rolling Stone years before the conspiracy books about his drowning came out. Its a great single. But I lost track of him after that , and reading the obit., his/her life definitely took a turn for the bizarre

I associate Psychic TV with Godstar, great song and recall them gigging but were never on my radar to go see . Interesting character, RIP

There was a whole page Obituary in today's Guardian (where else?). Apparently Throbbing Gristle did reach 67th on the U.K. pop chart in 1986. Oh,and can someone please explain to me in words of one syllable the difference between "electro pop" and "jazz funk" and why this is important?

"electro pop" is played by white kids, therefore it is ironic and disposable, "jazz funk" can only be played by respected black session musicians, making it suitable for serious study. Don't get me started on Jamiroquai.

..... strangely enough recently been listening to some old Coil stuff (also with Nine Inch Nails.) Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson was originally in TG before Gen/Jen P Orridge had a sex change
