Taking out the selfish interest in stoke for a second.
It’s disgusting that’s a football club can be run in this way and must be shit for thier fans.
Best of luck to them ( after the last game of the season) 😉

Well I can tell that summats amiss - but what? The man who bought them back in January has basically done a runner leaving them in the shit and as recently as Saturday, he Inst'd or tweeted (unsure which) that he wants to buy Dynamo Moscow (I think). Sounds a bit mental but more pertinently, Charlton FC are on the verge of liquidation. Another club the ELF allowed to be bought by a complete charlatan.

Feel sorry for the fans. Recent fuck ups aside, we're incredibly fortunate to have the owners we do.

They may have had a bad few years but they've got the best interests of the club at heart.

Wow a club with worse timing than us!
Hope they survive financially but nosedive into the ground and fully implode football wise and to our advantage
Nothing in the national press after a quick Google?!?

Feel sorry for the fans. Recent fuck ups aside, we're incredibly fortunate to have the owners we do. Duchatelet wasn't a great owner by any means but got serious abuse from fans and was forced to sell really. Sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for, celebrating an owner leaving with little idea of what lies ahead a bit premature. Am astounded when I read stuff on here demanding that the Coates family has run their course and time to move on. Ok is only a few on a message board but despite relegation etc we have one of the best owners you could ask for. I remember Birmingham fans boasting on line when Carson Yeung bought the club and talking of CL and being the next Man City in some cases.

That thread makes for really depressing reading. Hard not to feel for their fans, looks like a total shit show. Ownership rules need to be reviewed, why can’t potential owners be obliged to pay a “bond” to the EFL as part of the purchase transaction. The amount of the bond could be linked to the purchase price and would surely give dodgy owners food for thought

Amazing how after Dutchchalet they've managed to find a worse/less stable ownership.

As a Southern Stokie living in the Charlton catchment area, I've always had a soft spot for them for these reasons:
Was at their 'last game' at The Valley against us and remember the utter sorrow of their fans. Read and lived through the 'Back To The Valley' campaign, the political party etc and shared in their delight when they got back. Have always enjoyed a trip to the Valley, think they've done wonders with it.
I think it's appalling that yet another old club is being allowed to disappear thanks to unfit ownership and the FA caring F*** A** about it!
Once again, I can't help but think, "Be careful what you wish for and be grateful for what we have, look at Charlton's history!"

Interesting that there's a fan on the forum who said he warned this would happen, it does appear they've leapt off the precipice to the first chancer that came along. What a mess.

Is there not a middle ground of 'Dozy local owner who loves the club but hasn't got a clue how to run it right' and 'Complete shithouse who will bankrupt you'

I do genuinely love how one of the best owners in the country is a celebrity chef who has the sense to get out of the way of footballing operations.

We're lucky to have the owners we do.
Posters on here seem to think there are Saudi and Chinese billionaires lining up to turn every club that needs an owner into the next City or Wolves. People'd do well to remember though that we're even more unfashionable a city than Wolverhampton, a relatively small population's support is split between three clubs here.
We aren't some wonderful business venture.
We shouldn't be looking for new owners, but I definitely think fans should be lobbying for reformation among the hierarchy and it's about time there was some clarity about people's roles here.
