He had some career, though as an artistic Philistine, I am afraid that I mainly remember him as Emperor Ming and Blofeld.

RIP. Born Carl Adolf von Sydow. 90 years old. On a pedantic point of order, I would say that he was born with no such identity but that his parents gave him the name of Carl Adolf von Sydow if that is indeed the case. I can’t say I’d ever heard of him, but RIP all the same.

Seventh Seal is a better but like AliG his Ming the Merciless (combined with ther fabulous Peter Wyngarde as Klytus)will be main memory. RIP and a bloody good innings
