He didn’t endear himself to fans last season and as such we’ve haven’t heard “there’s only one Sammy Clucas” often, if at all, this year.
But given the feel good vibes tonight can we have a thread for him? I don’t recall the last time a central midfielder scored ten goals in a season for Stoke. Was it Kavanagh?
There have been a few crackers in there as well.
For me his good performances this season have eclipsed his antics last. I wish the crowd would get behind him more as he’s the kind of player that responds to it and when he’s on his game is a top player at this level.

It’s just a pity he didn’t play for a dozen other Championship clubs, always seems to raise his game against his old clubs.
Note to Ince 🤣

I think he’s a class act. Last season he rushed back from injury and burnt himself out. This season I think he’s been probably player of the season

One of very few players in our squad that other clubs would be interested in paying decent money for.

I must admit I'm not his greatest fan. His biggest fault is a tendancy to dissapear from games. However, his goals return from midfield in a struggling side is excellent.

Some people thought he was a poor signing.

My player of the season so far, closely followed by Powell. Gouranga. Add Maclean into that There's no doubt that MacLean works hard and is much improved out wide instead of at left back. If he'd have continued playing and at the same level of intensity then I think he would, indeed, be a candidate for player of the season. Given his current absence and his unfortunate stint in defence I think, now, there are more deserving candidates though he is certainly due a mention in despatches.

I can't like or admire a man who shushes the fans, stamps on a fellow professional, or runs to his previous clubs fans to thumb his nose at them. A thoroughly nasty piece of work.
But as a footballer he is probably Stoke's most consistently best. He takes his chances and is a natural poacher. I thought the first goal he took at Barnsley was excellent catching out the GK.
If Ince, Gregory, and Powell had taken their opportunities to score like Clucas does, we would be a lot higher in the table. But they keep passing instead of shooting, or simply miss.

10 goals from midfield is an excellent return and likely to get a couple more as well. Haven’t warmed to him but can’t fault him either.

He's like a petulant child waving his arms around and spitting his dummy out and many fans can't see beyond that. He is however a very gifted footballer, look at that third goal today, he didn't panic, took a touch and placed it. His passing in tight areas is superb. I really didn't like him when he signed but has completely won me over.

Kavanagh managed to do it three years in a row although it looks like the last one was James O'Connor during Gudjon's second season. Other than that all I can think of are Toddy Orlygsson and maybe Steve Foley in 1992/93.

Seems he'll be the player of the season if he continues like he is. I would have had Allen and McLean above him, so unless McLean comes back and has a stormer till the end of the season, Clucas it'll be. Or Powell.

I like clucas he puts himself in good positions to score goals and has good feet. As you say, he could end up with 13 + for the season, we would definatly be knackered without them goals

I type it at the end of every post, it goes back to the old Rivals Board and basically means - be happy, all the posters who used to call me a miserable twat are to blame for this - and for me painting it on motorway bridges throughout the country Gouranga.

Noticeable that he didn't celebrate his goals today. Clear has respect for the Hull support He got the bird at Swansea and saw fit to give some back the other week. 'nasty piece of work' Need more evidence than that for that statement
