Looking like a promising future for the club! Campbell, Collins, Thompson, Tashan, verlinden, to name the most prominent. A few more still maturing in Sorrenson, souttar etc. The club needs to add to this in the summer. The manager needs 4 or 5 and offload the same amount. We have the potential to be successful next season and be much stronger than we were under Pulis, as he had a squad full of loanees. The board has to get their act together and support MON in the summer.

It’ll be a tough Summer in the transfer market. Like the last window it’ll be a case of having to sell before we can buy.
Hopefully in Woods, Badou and Etebo there’s three outgoings already pretty much sorted.

The big unknown, of course, is what designs MON has for this team.
I, too, hope he goes for a youthful, skilful, pacy side which we were promised but denied by the previous 'manager'...

He has shown he will play youth if they prove to be up to it. Hopefully we will be safe with 3or4 games to go, I think he will play Collins, tashan etc.

We have the potential to be successful next season and be much stronger than we were under Pulis, as he had a squad full of loanees. The board has to get their act together and support MON in the summer. Last week after the showing at Luton we were all but relegated and had no future. There was a thread about how many players we would keep for next years possible battle in tier 3 land and most got rid of two thirds of the squad. Today we have a bright future It is going to be a massive battle to stay in the division this year and if we manage to do it then we have a huge, huge task ahead of us in the summer if we are not going to be in another relegation fight next year. Arguably we need an entire new back 5, but we also need to offload a bucket load of shite before we can even think of bringing players in the other way, we also have FFP to consider so even if we wanted to throw cash around we would not be able to. Our owners and their backroom staff are still an absolute omnishambles and we know that wont change either - so let us try and stay up this year and see if we can build a little next year - and, in my opinion, if we manage to stay up a lot more than 4 or 5 in/outs are needed before this squad can even resemble a top half of the table team and are a country mile away from the Pulis team that got us promoted Regarding our youngsters: Campbell: great potential and beginning to come of age, next season could be a big one for him Collins: Also great potential but needs game time and should have been sent out on loan for first half of the season - looks a bit naive at times, next few seasons we will get more of an idea about him and whether he can be an asset at this level, but will need to be bled in gently and wont be a regular Verlinden - Has long term injury, but looked promising in a few games Thompson - Still not sure about him, certainly does not lack confidence but a bit light weight. If we manage to stay up and have aspirations for top half finish then we will possibly need better, but I stand to be corrected Souttar - Not good enough at this level so far

I feel we will keep up the form shown under MON, for the rest of the season. There is no signs to say any different. That will bring 11 or 12 points, 53 points will keep us up. Only a sudden drop in form will see us relegated?

The noose around our necks will be wimmer and Bauer Afobe will be one big wages and may be another who digs in because of his wages Etebo and Badou May be loaned out again to meet FFP and not sold. One things for sure it’s gonna be a difficult window for O’Neill like you said.

Oh add to that Ince ,vokes, Gregory,Lindsay,Bruno, butland,Batth and woods who will be earning plenty and difficult to move on Ince is so one legged it’s untrue going to carry him for the next few seasons I would expect waste of a wage Vokes looks like he’s a bit part player so stuck with him for a few years Gregory hopefully off in the summer Lindsay hope he cuts out the stupid mistakes otherwise another one who won’t play and be hard to shift Bruno probably reignite his failed transfer to wherever it was hopefully for a fee Butland time to move on and free some wages up Batth ? Who knows will be on decent wages but at the expense of Collins and in the summer you would assume souttar. Woods we are just lumbered with as a loaner for FFP I would imagine as Can’t see anyone paying a decent fee for him hopeful wrong.

What a bizarre post. Yes this season is still a relegation battle but the idea we would face the same next year if we stay up flies in the face of the evidence. Since MON arrived, we have taken 34 points from 22 games which is equivalent to Preston’s full season record and sixth place. There are squad issues to be sorted out but with Woods, Etebo, Badou in the shopwindow and Afobe in demand, this should be possible. Hard to see how we go from near promotion form to relegation especially as we have Collins, Verlinden, Campbell and Oakley-Boothe all sure to improve. Add a left back and right winger, cover in midfield and get Shawcross back and we will be well set.
