Looking for some advice. Me and my mates were due to go to Florence in April for my stag do. Unfortunately, it looks likely that tomorrow Serie A will be making a shift on their fixtures for the remainder of the season. As a result, our trip to watch Fiorentina vs Cagliari is in tatters. We were due to fly in to Munich and then get a transfer flight to Florence. On the way back we are departing from Frankfurt. It's not looked good for the trip to Italy given the news in recent weeks but the change to the football has put the final nail in the coffin.
It's looking good that Bayern Munich are at home on the Saturday vs Fortuna Dusseldorf. Has anyone been to a German game before and if so how did you go about getting tickets? Their website is only showing tickets available for a game a week in advance and I don't fancy the risk of leaving it that late before having something in place. I've done Serie A before so felt like I knew what I was doing but this is a pain in the backside I didn't need. Also throwing in to that a train up to Frankfurt 3 days later (a 4 and half hour trip by the looks of it). I quite fancied going to watch Koln but that's a huge trip from Munich.
Any ideas/advice much appreciated on things to do/places to go between Munich and Frankfurt. It'll most likely be we do 3 nights in Munich then go to Frankfurt on the last day, but certainly open to ideas.
Ta very much๐

Ta very much๐ By April (if not sooner) isn't there a distinct possibility that you may end up with the exact same situation in Germany that you've got in Italy now? Just two weeks ago, nobody was even talking about Italy as being an issue, as all the focus was on China, things are obviously changing very quickly and I think it'd be a little bit naive to base any future plans on the current situation right now. We've got hotels and travel paid for for large scale public events in both Barcelona and Amsterdam in the next few months and we're fully prepared to have to take a hit on those trips if things (as it seems likely) escalate. I certainly won't be booking any NEW trips this Spring until the picture becomes much clearer. If you don't have flights and hotels already booked and if you need to make your plans certain now, would it be worthwhile maybe considering having a good piss up in dear old Blighty, rather than risking your new plans being thwarted too?

I sidestepped a trip to Benidorm this weekend simply because the thought of a two week lockdown over there followed by one over here was too much to contemplate. As above I've got a 5 day trip to Dubrovnik paid for at the end of next month but I expect that this will under threat by that time. I would normally book a holiday in Lanzarote in December by now but I'm holding fire and not booking anything else until it becomes obvious what will be happening. My daughter is coming home from Paris this morning because her office has closed down. Her office in Milan was closed last Monday. This is just the start.

Listening to the one show last night, Simon Calder the travel guy said he was talking to a lady in the queue at Stansted on Friday on her way to Cyprus, her husband decided he didn't want to go and stayed at home in Essex, this sounds like me and the Mrs for our trip next week, she was panicking about going and was thinking of staying home, then the b*stard said 'Cyprus doesn't have a single case of it' she now thinks it's OK for her to go

It was the Benidorm Half on Sunday I'm surprised it went ahead with Paris being cancelled. Can't see the Dubrovnik Half being on at the end of April. You'll be ok quarantined in a double room with Mrs Northy for two weeks what could possibly go wrong

Airports fine, trains fine, buses fine, bars very fine ๐ป Not seen any airport problems and been on 8 flights the last 17 days. One flight was out of Frankfurt as well. I'm sure they have more idea what's going on than panic mongers on the internet to be fair.

If that's the case mate I would defo recommend Cologne some fine bars and I quite like the local kรถlsch beer. The area around the cathedral is cracking. As for Frankfurt I spent 7hrs at Helium bar one afternoon ๐ป another cracking bar is Eschenheimer turm ๐ท both easily found.

I listened to the German Health minister last week complaining that they'd had a case diagnosed where the people in question had been tourists driving around the country and it was impossible to track down any contacts. It'll be the same everywhere we've just got to hope we can curtail the spread long enough for it to start dying out.
