I'm more worried about her recommendations for the "next" pandemic which they said on the news will be sooner rather than later!!!.. with this lot in charge now we will be locked down tighter and longer.

I'm not even sure we should be prepared for the next pandemic. Preparing would suck up all our resources and rob us blind for decades. If there is to be another catastrophe maybe it should be just that, catastrophic.

Surprise Surprise government slammed saying under prepared resulting to excess deaths and failing economy no wonder fishing rishi wanted an election he'd probably buy been at less than 50 And all of the governments around the world were prepared weren't they ? Most weren't but some were - especially those who had recently experienced the SARs outbreak - BBC News - Covid: The countries that nailed it, and what we can learn from them www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-56455030. The enquiry is extremely damning about the governments state of preparedness to handle a pandemic. The much maligned WHO had been encouraging governments to check their readiness to deal with a pandemic and our government chose to ignore them. It's taken an actual pandemic to get our house in order - hopefully next time we'll have plans and procedures in place and be in a better position to deal with it.

You don't really understand averages, probability and statistical variation do you?

You don't really understand averages, probability and statistical variation do you? The claim was 98% chance of not getting Convid, that leaves a 2% chance of him catching it. To catch it 3 times would be 0.02 x 0.02 x 0.02 = 0.000008 or 0.0008% chance. He's either really unlucky or he was lieing!

Biden is in a high risk category - he's old, frail and meets way more people on a daily basis than the vast majority of people of his age. Even the figure of 0.0008% means 8 people in 1 million will get covid 3 times and the chances of someone in Bidens risk category is going to be way higher.

All this tells me is that we were pushed insane amounts of propaganda during this dark period in modern history in an attempt to warp our sensibilities, impose insane restrictions on our lives and coerce us into dangerous behaviour. I'll never let go how they pushed and pushed this vaccine to the point they were trying to mandate it in kids as young as 6 months old. This at a time they knew this was not a virus that had any significant effect on healthy youngsters. It was wrong wrong wrong. Wankers. Fact is the vaccine was nowhere near as effective as they made out. Remember how it was supposed to stop transmission. They milked that one for the short period they could before it was called out as total bollox. And yes as a 46 year old at the time I weighed up my options and had the first 2 vaccines.

Yeah, i'm sure that Biden was fully aware that 98% was the "the average across all age ranges and vulnerability" when he trotted out that line. Every one I know who had the jab got Convid again, and again regardless of age, that would mean a extremely large "statistical variance"

Nobody is getting locked down Anyone still advocating lockdowns is a danger to society and needs to be dealt with severely. I agree but I bet you that is one of her main recommendations...

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/07/18/ministers-failed-citizens-wrong-pandemic-covid-report/Good old right-wingers, always blaming someone else. They don't learn, do they, although I guess there are always a good few who'll swallow the bollocks wgen offered. I assume the link is behind a paywall, so allow me to put the meat on the bones. The enquiry, abd even the main body of the above report, fixes the blame squarely on Tory govt ministers and their lack of leadership and preparation, not the civil service. But, of course, the right always has to blame someone else...
