This could explain this thread. Hands up if you watch KGB News…. Could you explain the conclusion of this post doctorate research paper? www.researchgate.net/publication/362777743_Excess_mortality_in_Germany_2020-2022"Conclusion The present study used the state-of-the-art method of actuarial science to estimate the expected number of all-cause deaths and the increase in all-cause mortality for the pandemic years 2020 to 2022 in Germany. In 2020 the observed number of deaths was extremely close to the expected number, but in 2021 the observed number of deaths was far above the expected number in the order of twice the empirical standard deviation. The analysis of the age-dependent monthly excess mortality showed, that a high excess mortality observed in the age groups between 15 and 79 starting from April 2021 is responsible for the excess mortality in 2021. An analysis of the number of stillbirths revealed a similar mortality pattern than observed for the age group between 15 and 79 years. As a starting point for further investigations explaining this mortality patterns, we compared the excess mortality to the number of reported COVID-19 deaths and the number of COVID-19 vaccinations. This leads to several open questions, the most important being the covariation between the excess mortality and the COVID-19 vaccinations."

My point is that there are many legitamate sources that have questioned the vaccines throughout, which have been highlighted on this thread, GB news are a amongst a minority that choose to highlight these findings. They recieve dismissal because they are against the mass formation narative. We have heard many times to "trust the science" but science without questioning is dogma. There has been an overwelming mass of data and opinion on both sides but I believe that we are about to see the fallout from the actions of the past two years which will go down in history as the most gross neglagence in human history. Yes I watch GB news, yes I try and back it up with trusted source data and I do have a strong background in data analysis and statistics. Time will tell

The scaremongering returns. How would you decide whether a new wave is gonna be bad or not? From what I'm seeing in the data it's nothing like the OG three waves.

insulinresistance.org/index.php/jir/article/view/71Results: In the non-elderly population the “number needed to treat” to prevent a single death runs into the thousands. Re-analysis of randomised controlled trials using the messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) technology suggests a greater risk of serious adverse events from the vaccines than being hospitalised from COVID-19. Pharmacovigilance systems and real-world safety data, coupled with plausible mechanisms of harm, are deeply concerning, especially in relation to cardiovascular safety. Mirroring a potential signal from the Pfizer Phase 3 trial, a significant rise in cardiac arrest calls to ambulances in England was seen in 2021, with similar data emerging from Israel in the 16–39-year-old age group. Conclusion: It cannot be said that the consent to receive these agents was fully informed, as is required ethically and legally. A pause and reappraisal of global vaccination policies for COVID-19 is long overdue. insulinresistance.org/index.php/jir/article/view/72Results: Underlying causes for this failure include regulatory capture – guardians that are supposed to protect the public are in fact funded by the corporations that stand to gain from the sale of those medications. A failure of public health messaging has also resulted in wanton waste of resources and a missed opportunity to help individuals lead healthier lives with relatively simple – and low cost – lifestyle changes. Conclusion: There is a strong scientific, ethical and moral case to be made that the current COVID vaccine administration must stop until all the raw data has been subjected to fully independent scrutiny. Looking to the future the medical and public health professions must recognise these failings and eschew the tainted dollar of the medical-industrial complex. It will take a lot of time and effort to rebuild trust in these institutions, but the health – of both humanity and the medical profession – depends on it.

Yeah i gotta say my gf called it, this is what she said back in something like May 2020. IMO the only thing that would require strict action would be a new super breakout mutation that's also deadly. Nothing I've seen says we're near that so I bet the scientists are probably gonna recommend nothing major. Stuff like encouraging vaccination and wearing a mask etc if you're sick.

It's common sense, the immune system has developed over fuck knows how long, why intefere with it ? Some author came our school when I was there and read his book where this old man stayed inside in a bubble then died really quickly when infected, so I think about that. But also it's a bit more subtle than common sense and letting nature take its course surely? The average Brit used to die before 40 years old and I'm fucking glad we interfered with that! I'll keep washing my hands with soap, am vaccinated against polio and take antibiotics when infected. They aren't natural things to do and we evolved without them but I think they're worth it.

Interesting perspective from the union fighting against medical and care home staff wearing masks: www.hartgroup.org/the-facts-about-mask-requirements/This might come as a surprise to those working in healthcare, but since 27th January 2022, there has been no legal requirement to wear a mask or face covering in any healthcare setting in England. The other devolved nations have also followed suit. So why are NHS trusts and care homes still insisting on this?
...As a Workers of England Union representative, on an almost daily basis I now find myself sat in front of NHS and care home grievance panels, defending members who do not wish to spend 12+ hour working shifts, with their faces covered by a useless (but very harmful) blue surgical mask. On every occasion, I ask the chair of the meeting the same questions:
Have you carried out an individual risk assessment, (as per section 3 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999), declaring the employee is medically fit to wear a mask throughout their entire working shift? Have you undertaken an individual fit test, carried out by an appropriately qualified health and safety practitioner? According to the Health and Safety Executive (the government’s own regulator on PPE), it states “[fluid resistant surgical masks] do not provide full respiratory protection against smaller suspended droplets and aerosols. That is, they are not regarded as personal protective equipment (PPE) under the European Directive 89/686/EEC (PPE Regulation 2002 SI 2002 No. 1144).” So, why are you insisting they be worn by all staff? Why do you believe masks work against SARS-CoV2 (Covid-19) but not against influenza, adenovirus, rhinovirus, or the other six identified coronaviruses, four of which cause the common cold? Can you provide any evidence of the efficacy of surgical masks against an airborne virus spread by aerosols, measuring approximately 50-100nm in size? Do you understand the difference between guidance and law? Do you understand that “guidance” is not legally binding? If there is a conflict between guidance and law, it is the law which sets the precedent. Any “policy” set by an employer must be both lawful and operate with the existing Equality Act 2010 legislation.

www.hartgroup.org/have-face-masks-reduced-covid-cases/Comparing school-age cases in England and Scotland during autumn 2021 shows an effect By Dr Steven Hammer Conclusion The enhanced restrictions and secondary school mask mandate seems to have had a negative effect overall on weekly cases in primary and secondary school age groups in Scotland. Test positivity is higher there and increases in cases and testing at the start of the autumn term were higher than in England. If masks and more restrictions reduce transmission, why did Scottish young people have greater increases in weekly cases and higher test positivity than English young people in autumn 2021?

Now they're so good they stop you catching absolutely anything and damage your immune system as a result. I wish some folk would make their mind up.

Are things like amount of time spent indoors, fraction of people recently infected or vaccinated etc identical between England and Scotland? We're testing rates identical between England and Scotland?

We're testing rates identical between England and Scotland? It's not a controlled experiment and in fairness to the Doc writing it don't think he suggests it is. What he doesn't really delve into is that Scotland had greater restrictions, a higher vaccine take-up, less population density, arguably greater adherence to guidence etc so you'd expect our figures to have been better than England not the other way around.
