I asked my mate that, he's been told all UK production to cease across all sites with immediate effect. Think Dyson must have stepped in instead fella..... It's a bit of a worry though, if it's turned out that that these companies aren't actually capable of manufacturing them. I'd love to know WHY JCB are now not going to manufacture them. I can only assume mate it would be too much of a departure to gear up to produce them at JCB whereas Dyson and GTech are probably not that different small technical products in the first place.

I’ve been trying to work out how my better half goes on. She has her own limited company working from home and doesn’t employ anyone. She gets her salary as drawings and only upto about £12k per year. All her work has dried up but doesn’t seem to be any financial help for her or others in the same boat unless anyone knows otherwise Well she should be filing a tax return and if she does and has no other income then she should be able to claim 80% of her profit on tax returns averaged over the last 3 years like anyone else who is self employed.

No doubt Arsenal fans will say it's Ryan Shawcross. As brutal as that is, it's not Italy... It's South America somewhere isn't it? Was doing the rounds earlier in the week.

At the £12k level she has had bad advice if it is taken as dividends because these can only be paid from profits so her company will pay tax at 19% on tbe profits so somewhere around £2k tax whereas taking the £14k as salary it would be under £1k tax. If she has an accountant they should have pushed her down salary route.

Not quite yet. We’re still kings of the world 😉

Directors aren’t self employed. Shareholders (who own the company) aren't always (usually) directors either.

She didn’t go down the salary route because work and hence turnover is very sparodic and the money taken is only really used for our treats - like holidays etc.

I’m not one for politics me, I can’t stand any of it or the people that work within it, but that Sunak is putting on a mightily impressive showing so far. Yes he's impressive isn't he? I'm loving that CMO, Jenny Harries. No question ever seems to faze her and she has a reassuring presence about her. He must have a brain the size of a planet. He's been in the job a fortnight and with this massive financial bailout he's up there fronting it all, taking questions and never a stutter. He even seems as though he knows what he's on about it. And Jenny Harries is great. Sensible, reassuring and a sense of humour. What's not to like. Bugger those other robots and that buffoon Boris off. These two are the best double act.

Directors aren’t self employed. I'm confused so is she on PAYE? If you were a director you wouldn't pay yourself £12k in dividends if it is your only income, non of it makes sense.

Lockdown day 12 done here in Lanzarote, minimum 18 to go, its tough lads.
The UK needs to wake up quick, it will be interesting to see peoples attitudes on here in 10 days time, once the novelty has worn off...
Strap in Stokies, we are in for the long haul.

I don't like his politics and his background in a very aggressive investment fund is to my mind not great, however, he gives an impression of competence that is in marked contrast to his boss.
