This is very worrying development imo. If all elderly people have had the vaccine and it is as effective as being promoted, and staff are properly tested then why would the staff require it? and if the vaccine is not so effective why would they require it? Forced vaccinations is not a good way to go at all imo I just cant like it when Pharmaceutical companies with known criminal records are running policy.

I love how the pro lockdown mob every now and then refer to those who think we should stop living our lives in fear, get on with living life and sack off these pathetic restrictions as "snowflakes". The irony is unbearable. And I love right whingers with binary brains who think anyone that challenges them must hold polar opposite views and can't spot deliberate irony when it's got a giant giant red flag (intended pun just in case*) attached to it. (*I can stick a hammer and sickle on it as well if it helps). Coming from a guy who still buys into shit that even the guys telling him don't believe. 😂

I would have thought that “all” care workers especially in care homes would have been a priority from the start for the jabs, obviously not. Should have been compulsory when the hospitals literally dumped thousands of their patents on them last March. And most of the scum bag owners of the care homes were more than happy to take the financial inducements to take them No care home had to take untested hospital patients

I'm not on here day in day out from dawn 'til dusk repeating myself ad nauseam because I've got nothing better to do (like you are). Whether you "buy into" it or not you can do one of two things - (a) you can get on with your life in the best way possible or (b) you can try and do something about it. I - and most people I know - are in (a) - its all pretty shit but actually its far better for your health to just get on with stuff - because unless your life before was just beer and football - there's a lot you can be getting on with. Now I'm sure to you we're the scourge of the earth because we're not being outraged on a daily basis (how dare we be finding any enjoyment in life under your imaginary jackboot - hospitality on it's knees, massive recession looming etc etc) Which brings us to (b) - so do something about it. But you don't - you talk about protests and storming the BBC and god knows what - but you wouldn't do it -probably be too frightened of being told off by a copper or getting your hair wet (but diss anyone else who protests about something you're not keen on as 'woke warriors" - well they might be but at least they've got the courage of their convictions to stand tall). So actually you do neither. Instead you just rant on a little read football message board - Eat Sleep Rant Repeat. So if you really feel as strongly as you say you do why not get off your arse and do something about it rather than just continuously talking soundbites while looking for self affirmative 'likes' on the Oatcake?

Some good news from the numbers yesterday... it seems the growth rate is slowing, more data is needed (and its hospitalisations that matter of course but this is good news for reopening)
It has gone from circa 60% growth week on week to 30% week on week.
Hopefully the start of a plateau before a decline.
We don't want the government to have any reason to delay July 19th. And that is good for both sides of the argument around this.

The latest in a long line of bollocks measures to be deemed, well, bollocks. I think this is down to more information being found out about the virus. The whole catching it from surfaces is proving to be untrue (although I'm happy people are actually more hygienic now!) It's spread through the air, just get good ventilation into buildings, get the population vaccinated and all this restrictive shite can go. (whether is should be gone already is a point of debate, however I will not waste breath on it as we are locked in to the current restrictions til 19th July now)

Backing these care home workers into a corner at syringe-point could well backfire as they'll be more ready to be whistleblowers for what really went on in these homes.

Who had Moscow on their Variant Bingo? Wow, they've started that one early. Give it four weeks and two people will have it forcing Boris to announce " just a few weeks more, that's all we ask, to save the nhs." Ferguson has already decided it will cause 50000 deaths by Christmas and Prof Michie is positively dribbling in her knickers at the prospect. Dribbling in her knickers 😂

The latest in a long line of bollocks measures to be deemed, well, bollocks. Our office is full of them You really couldn’t make this shit up ! Right from day one I said how can randomly placed pieces of plastic…ill fitting face masks and standing 2 meters away from each stop a virus that is invisible to the human eye from spreading. It really is just chance whether you contract the virus or not. Before Bayern bollocks me lol…I don’t deny a virus is out there…me and and my family all had a positive test back in November 2020…we were rough for a few days but thankfully we are all as fit as a fiddle now. I’ve had my two jabs but I’m not having a third because I feel we are being lied to every day by our incompetent, corrupt so called leaders.

I've been laughing at some of the perspex things myself, I like the ones that are stand alone, about a metre square and have nothing to the side or above them I guess that can stop a large droplet though but still they look ridiculous and totally pointless.

Masks in my opinion are pretty pointless. Very few people wear them correctly and when they do there are gaps all around it…germs getting out and germs getting in…and those crazy welders mask type face coverings are even worse.

A leaked document gave a glimpse of the UK's potential 'new normal' today with facemasks, working from home and travel quarantine rules set to stay beyond July 19.
The Whitehall paper suggests that the government will stop short of urging workers to return to offices even after 'Freedom Day' finally arrives.
There is also a suggestion that face masks will be needed in some settings long-term, as well as keeping post-travel isolation rules.
Anyone who has coronavirus symptoms will still be expected to isolate, according to the draft proposals. And fears have been raised that more restrictions will be needed if the disease surges again in the winter.
The document - seen by Politico - emerged as furious Tories predicted up to 70 MPs could inflict a bloody nose on Boris Johnson in a crunch lockdown vote tonight.
The PM is facing a bruising revolt from his own benches as the Commons is asked to approve the delay of 'Freedom Day' until July 19.
Victory is guaranteed for the government as Labour has thrown its backing behind the extension of the brutal restrictions.
The shift from Mr Johnson, amid warnings from scientists that the Indian variant will cause thousands more deaths, has incensed many Conservatives who argue that vaccines have protected the most vulnerable and the country must learn to live with the virus.

My dad tested positive with Covid whilst in a care home and was freely allowed to mix with everyone, we did question this and the reply was they couldn’t stop him wandering due to his Alzheimer.

People keep referring to 'freedom day' like its not something we should have anyway! 'Freedom day' can be NOW if people just refused to comply. Say no to masks, social distancing etc. Turn off the lying news channels and think for yourself! Jesus wept.

Interesting but it won’t change a single thing. Johnson will bluff his way out of it again and say now is not the time…wait for next years enquiry. The MSM will show no interest and the shit show will rumble on. They will eventually all turn on each other when the pressure is really applied. It’s like a crappy soap opera but with real life tragic consequences.

In that case ..... "Breaking news.... In a surprise result, Stoke City, a professional English Football Team have been voted "The Greatest Sports Team Of All Time". Apparently this accolade was awarded largely because of the team's saving the nation from the ravages of Covid. The team's inability to score and boring play caused supporters around the country to avoid football stadiums and cower in terror in their homes. The effect was so bad, even fans of other sports were saved as they tried to ensure that their team did not catch the malaise." (Direct quote from GOBBY NEWS)

That's like saying that if Stoke had a front line of Pele, Marradonna and Ronaldo at their prime, with a midfield and defense of similar calibre players, we would win promotion. Biggest IF ever! That lot doing their job with integrity? On a side note, I almost choked laughing at a TV advert the other day. It was for an ambulance chasing lawyer and his punchline ... I kid you not ...... "Just like Cable News, you can trust us to give you the facts." <Note to self ....Never use that attorney!
