Talked to my mother on the phone tonight. She had the impression old people (like herself, soon 82) have been told they should avoid meeting with new people they don't know, but it didn't mean they can't see their own brothers and sisters and cousins, their own children and grandchildren and so on, family and relatives, that is - as much as they like. That's what she thought and still do. Stay safe Musik You too, Bayern!

So the Chinese scientists who believe it may have been from a laboratory escape in their own country are wrong and you are right ?, what are the west - acceptable meats that caused pandemics ? interested to know so I can stay clear of them in the future if there is a future. By the way monkeys, bats, rats, snakes, wolf cubs, hedgehogs, grasshoppers, armadillos, camels, lamas, koala bears, horses, insects, spiders, worms, song birds, cats( domestic, wild and big), elephants, rhino's, zebra, alligator, crocodile, hippo, giraffe, sloths, slugs, snails, mice, fox, ferrets, weasels, frogs, toads, humans (including the Blackpool kebab version) and dogs are already off the menu for me, by the way as you already or should know there are many types of Coronavirus this particular one appears to be a mutation make of that what you will. I assume you've eaten a few mad cows though? Not sure about eaten though I have married two

God bless her and pray she, you all stay safe and well, I keep getting slated on here but I feel there is something different about this virus from the many others in recent memory. The same to you, Slinger! It sure is something different this time.

Latest from Sweden: Most focus here now on the conflict between Sweden and China. The former member of the Conservative Party Gunnar Hökmark has wrote an article, saying China should make an apology to the rest of the world for: * oppression of the truth * the nonchalance towards animal safety * poor animal husbandry since one epidemic after another comes from China, he says. China, in turn, has asked him for an apology. Oh dear, poor old Sweden....I fear a mass of cyber attacks coming your way for saying anything that criticises China. Russia have been very quiet lately mind you we haven't had an election etc. since Christmas never trust a Red Star

I'm here surrounded by everything I could reasonably want or need if I was faced with an extended period of self isolation, including books, technology, outdoor views and so on. I am therefore in a fairly enviable situation. Even so I don't know how I will get through several weeks of containment and restriction. There's nowhere really to go and nothing to spend money on, as the shops are empty and the pubs are shut. I can walk in scenic local countryside but you can only do so much deep breathing and contemplation of nature.
Its not the virus I'm worried about as I either get it and see what happens or I don't. But the prospect of seeing everything that we know change, perhaps forever, and with all things ahead being so uncertain and unpredictable, is something that I think may be impossible to cope with or comprehend. And we are likely to continue under restriction for months.
I just don't know how people are going to cope, especially those with the usual worries of life like caring for the family and paying the bills, whilst often living in difficult conditions. Its already turning into a nightmare.

No, because lots of other recent epidemics/pandemics have come from eating more west-acceptable meats. Coronavirus is not manmade. There are genomic studies that show markers of human gene-editing and the whole thing has been sequenced. It is not a bioweapon or accidental release. So the Chinese scientists who believe it may have been from a laboratory escape in their own country are wrong and you are right ?, what are the west - acceptable meats that caused pandemics ? interested to know so I can stay clear of them in the future if there is a future. Which 'Chinese scientists'? Avian flu in birds ('acceptable') Swine flu in pigs ('acceptable') And all viruses mutate, after about every 16th vector or person. That means nothing.

It didn't escape a lab, it came from eating meat. The same as avian flu, Ebola, HIV, swine flu, SARS. From different parts of the world, eating different animals, in different places. It's nothing to do with China or communism before you say it. Knowing it came from china makes no difference. The only thing you could draw from all these things is actually the question of whether we should eat meat. Bless you keep on believing in your socialist Utopia The rest of us will lay the blame fully at the door of where it belongs the government of the peoples Republic of China What has any of this got to do with socialism? And there is literally no evidence whatsoever that it is the fault of the Chinese govt. In fact, they've contained it better than almost any other country.

I think I would rather take on the spot assessments nothing against you of course it's just common sense duck.

Yup, he's probably paddling like shit under the surface but above he's looking calm and in control. Yeah Boris makes me feel nervous, there seems to be a panic in his eyes, whereas Sunak emanates a sense of reassurance and calm. One's a Chancellor and one's a Prime Minister - the pressure on one is more than the other.

Crappy does at least get himself banned from time to time - which gives us all a very welcome breather.

Just trying to adjust the communication to your level Lil one pretty sure from your ramblings you are closer to twelve than I am , the truth will come out even the ruthless oppressive communist government in China will not be able to contain it forever
