The average weekly deaths I’d imagine is still down quite a bit but the average weekly cases I’d hazard a guess are rising.
With more things opening, face masks have to be mandatory.

Last week's daily average was, cases 656, deaths 92, week before was 837 and 113. Last seven days (including today) daily average is, cases 577, deaths 85.

Yes the figures are ever so slowly heading in the right direction but frustratingly, a lot slower than our European neighbours it appears.

An interesting video explaining why some countries have had a spike in excess deaths this year and why coronavirus hasn't affected others.

Extremely interesting, it would have been nice if he had included Germany, I was kind of expecting him to eventually get there. Does this data give us any indication on which countries might now be effected by a 'second wave'?

Does this data give us any indication on which countries might now be effected by a 'second wave'? This is the site he was referencing Paul, Euromomo. Scroll to the bottom for the graphs. www.euromomo.eu/graphs-and-maps#excess-mortalityLooks like Germany hasn't really had any significant dips or spikes over the past couple of years compared to us, Spain, Italy, France etc. In effect, you'd hope that most countries have now levelled out and any second wave won't add anything significant to those graphs.

And now following Sturgeon by making wearing masks compulsory in shops. Is there anything this bloke can actually provide leadership on? (Other than screwing around, I'll give him that one!) Don't you remember the scientist lady advising him masks weren't really any good, it was sat down in a 1 v 1 type interview. Don't let the facts get in the way though If even the Telegraph thinks you're shit, then you're really shit...!

Can anyone explain the diminishing correlation between cases and deaths in the USA... At the start of this epidemic deaths seemed to lag infections by 2 or 3 weeks, but in the past month 5/6 weeks they've diverted - cases rising rapidly, deaths steadily falling. Starting to creep up again now...

' Stay at home if you can' seemed to change to ' Go to work if you can' today if I heard the PM right. This is a huge about turn if true. I'm not sure why there wasn't a proper announcement, just the PM muttering vaguely in to his chin in the so called 'People's PMQ's' which no one watches. Yep. It's just another sense of ambiguity that this arsehole of a leader seems to give out.

Sweet Jesus. Someone will tell you the 7 day average is less than 100 and that is what matters but these are still dead people who have not been reported before. And if the actual deaths didn't happen today then so what? It only means the the previous numbers have been understated and by implication the current running 7 day average is being understated too as we 'catch up' again next week. It's been a lamentable effort all round, I don't only mean the politicians but the medical leaders too. Witty and co. have had an absolute nightmare as well.

People are telling you that the seven day average is currently below 100 because that's what it is. Not sure where you've got the "all that matters" from? The average in the first week of April was 720 and in the first week of May it was 550. During April there were regular daily reports of over 1000 deaths. Last week we had announcements of 16 and 22. There were 38 reported hospital deaths yesterday and none on Friday. 80% of hospital trusts had reported no deaths for 48 hours on Friday. In Italy, the people who died were in the main the elderly and infirm (median age was 80) and had two or more comorbidites. There's nothing to suggest it's any different in this country. It's no less sad or distressing for their families of course, but large swathes of fit and healthy and particularly young people and children are not in danger.

When you see the pictures from Tokyo and Los Angeles who were smog free on certain days during lockdown then I would say listen to your health secretary Boris and the top 200 scientists in the world There are literally millions of people who are travelling when they don't need to - stay off the feckin roads and leave them to the people that have to use them - this is the 21st feckin century - let us move into it. We need to move away from people taking their 2 hour journey to work in their 3 litre 4x4 just to login to a computer when there is just no need - we also need to promote electric cars with urgency - the new slogan should be stay at home if you can and save your children's/grand children's lives and unless you are a farmer then please shove your ignorant 4x4 up your arse

Dreadful disease. Interesting article. Some (43) patients have severe neurological symptoms, without any of the other symptoms, it said. Terrific! Not. My older brother was called away from work recently, due to some coughing. He has worked w corona patients at Intensive care for weeks.

What bothers me is that Sweden now are letting tourists from all around the globe come to our country. Some of them absolutely don't care about corona. "Take the next bus if it's filled with people", the sign says, but nooo ...
What bothers me even more is the media talk about a 2nd wave. When they do, everyone thinks it's not here atm. 😠
