Maybe he was telling them how bad they were and how ridiculous it is to cover you face in that way? Either way, he's an absolute loon for making it public. Who the fuck owns a balaclava as well? Idiot. Spider-Man? Carl Saunders does not own a balaclava

In that great run under Mills.
Scoring for fun.
Possibly in my top three favourite periods a Stoke fan.
Hammering teams and playing incredible football.

McLean wouldn't be such a divisive character if he was on Fuller or Arnautovic's level - the majority of Stoke fans would 'forgive' whatever there is to forgive. Unrelated to this thread (following rabbit holes from the best world players thread), I've read up on some older controversial players, and Reading's Robin Friday seems to be one of the worst. His antics range from the hilarious to the disgusting, yet he won Reading's player of the year in both his seasons there and has been voted their greatest player of all time. He was also loved at Cardiff. He retired at 25 and died in 1990, aged 38. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robin_Friday

Errrr. I don’t think he was actually indoctrinating his kids. I think that was the point of the joke. Sitting in front of your kids wearing an IRA uniform is not indoctrinating their young minds? I stand corrected (not). It's just the Irish version of Mr Napkin Head.

He isn't wearing an 'IRA uniform' and I don't think they feel the need to jump on the next ferry to South Armagh Like I said, what people post on these daft sites is their business to me, why some no footballer's wife insulting someone or some actress talking about saving the penguin is deemed important is beyond me but sadly so many see social media as important and feel the need to trawl through people's posts and get all excited about nothing

How English people can support or sympathise a bloke who quite clearly tries to wind up people about the fact he fully supports the IRA astound me. If he wasn't earning a wage in the country of the people he constantly tries to take the piss out of then fair enough. Saying that though, he's got to be known and remembered for something I suppose, because his footballing ability won't cut it. I don't give a shit about his beliefs and I said that when we signed him, the only thing I've ever given a shit about is that he isn't anywhere near good enough a player to warrant all the bollocks he brings to every club he's at. There is a reason why he is universally unliked by football fans across the country, and that's because he is a purposely divisive nothing footballer. I don't care if he plays in a bloody Balaclava as long his he contributes to a winning team.

That's like saying I don't like Hitler but I'll still happily take a good quote of his. Doesn't wash with me. We are all entitled to our opinion on the matter, I'll crack open a bottle of champagne when he does go. Of course it isn't. You can't legitimately refute the general point by finding just about the most extreme example anyone could ever think of. You are of course entitled to your opinion, just like James McLean. But you are not entitled to say things which aren't true. Aside from which, it actually is like that. Heinous people are capable of saying things which are true and correct sometimes.

Kenny has a decent record in Irish football. Jimmy Mac has a good point there in giving him some support.

The intention here could be to establish himself early as pro-Kenny, and thus keep himself in the new manager's plans for as long as possible, although there are people (including former players) who would always question the bone fides of a coach from an un-heralded club/league, however successful he might have been. Just look at the reaction of horror on here when M O'N was appointed. At the moment, Kenny has more knowledge of the 21's, and had them playing the way he wanted. They are a very talented bunch, especially the forwards, and Kenny will certainly be looking to introduce a number of them far quicker than Mad Mick ever would.
I would guess that, by the back-end of this year, McClean will no longer be a regular on the RoI first eleven.

Linked to McLean but not about him, I noticed that both Kav and Kevin Kilbane liked a tweet that was commenting positively on some kind of Bobby Sands anniversary (his death I think) a week or so ago.
I meant to post about it and forgot.
Does that mean kav and kilbane are terrorist, anti English sympathisers?
