Oi upstart, you trying to tell me something? That would have been such an easy game to lose, instead it was one of our best, most joined-up defensive performances under MoN. We really did do the job right through the team and I thought Mick's read of the game was excellent. Still glad I didn't drive all the way to Blackburn for 90 mins of it tho... 9 from me add * if you were there please

I can’t give anymore when we send a team out for a game of championship football and fail to register any kind of attempt on target.

That's not quite right........Campbell had a decent shot saved, but apart from that. For the last 15 minutes of games when we are not losing MON is more Pulis than Pulis ever was.

If we’re playing like we did tonight in most home games then damn right it will be. MON is much better than that though and a sensible sort who doesn’t resort to that sort of cowardice at home.

I do think our creativity suffers when Powell is played on the left but, given our injury list of left sided options I don't see how we can avoid playing Powell there at present. Powell playing on the left was, I am sure, the reason why Campbell played as deep as he did.
Blackburn away is a tough game and I thought we'd probably lose - largely because I couldn't see us getting a clean sheet. I was wrong - and a large part of the reason was MON's team selection and game plan. The way Blackburn played I'm pretty certain we'd have lost if MON had played a more attacking game. The only thing I would have done differently would have been to bring on Diouf for his pace instead of Gregory. It is a pity Gregory is so ineffective in front of goal because he has a knack of getting himself into scoring positions. :-(
8 from me.
