I was pulling out what's left of my hair in the last quarter as we persisted in hoof ball up to nobody.
Earlier in the match though I thought MON is gradually getting the team to play less side to side and backwards balls than they have done under recent managers, and putting together some neat passing moves. We missed our chances to score in the first quarter and then gradually got worse and worse creatively. At least the defence didn't mess up today, although they came close a few times. Same for me - we have no one going forward who can win in the air yet we persist in floating high balls up field. It simply gives the opposition possession and invites pressure. It drives me crazy. Having said that, on reflection, we battled well against a goodish championship side and It was a good point in the end.

I couldn't watch it, favoured the champs league to watch some actual football rather than that dreadful impersonation. Sorry but this I cannot understand.

Just got back Quite surprised by some reactions on here It wasn’t a great game but they’re on good form and we matched them on their own patch A good away point and another clean sheet Not sure what some people expect sometimes

Fuckin abysmal so called game of football. No pace No idea No technique No genuine flair It’s got relegation written all over it! It had turned up for a point written all over it, we got what we went for, it was clear we wanted to take very little risk and if a chance came take it, it did, we didn't and we then went back to settling for a point.

Just a reminder to everybody that in the last two away games we conceded 4 goals in each game to mid-table mediocracy. Perhaps MON decided in a game against play off contenders to tighten it up a bit to achieve a valuable point in a relegation battle. We have a potential 6 pointer at the weekend.
We have the upper hand but we’re in a trench, stick together, keep your shit and ride it out.

If we we win Saturday then it's 4 points from 2 games, Jesus Or seven from three games unless you were just talking last two away matches.

Yup really can’t see why anyone can’t see past that and just be ok with it. We didn’t attack, don’t have a go at the attackers for not attacking. It literally wasn’t in the plan unless something catastrophic (from a Blackburn POV) came around. Mind numbing game but a vital point.

I did think they were very open in the first half and with a bit more ambition we could’ve done some damage. But then as has been pointed out, sometimes you need a bit of conservatism and we got a good point and another clean sheet. The away fans sounded like they enjoyed it from what I heard. Not everything is about spectacular on-field entertainment (in fact very little is if you’re a Stoke fan, let’s be honest).

Jesus on a bike did we lose 4-0 again? In the context of the season that's a good point. We actually tracked their movement, kept one of the form strikers off the score sheet and gave Collins valuable first team game time. If Powell was available to play in his normal role then Campbell would have had more support but as it is the manager is doing a great job of mixing and matching the players that he has that he can trust.

People who say so called Stoke fans do my head in. You think Diouf should be in the side so you do my head in!! Yup and we may have actually had something up front yesterday if Diouf was playing. He’s way more suited to how we played. And that’s no dig at Campbell, the tactics just weren’t conducive to him playing well.

Blackburn are something like 12 places higher than us and we shipped 4 goals in each of our last 2 away games.
On what planet is a dour 0-0 draw not a good result? We're an average Championship team with a shit defence, battling relegation...some people still seem to think we're Europa League contenders.

Good point. We are absolutely woeful and don't look remotely convincing in anything we do. We are absolutely miles away from being the side we should be. Yes,but infinitely more effective than the one O'Neil inherited.

You could tell by the nature of our ‘attempts’ at goal - all speculative - that we were hoping to nick something rather than trying to win. But when all is said and done, if we win at Luton then 7pts from 9, and at least 2 clean sheets following the Derby and QPR debacles will be a great recovery.
I’m confident he’ll set us up more positively on Saturday.

Yes sometimes it helps to remind yourself that we took 2 points from the first possible 30 this season.
Played 10 Lost 8 Drawn 2
I don't think I was alone in thinking we were sunk without trace with nearly a quarter of the season gone.

We had just come off two successive bad away defeats conceding four in both so to get a point and keep a clean sheet away at a team just outside the play-offs is a decent result for me. We are of course still deep in a relegation scrap but our latest two results, along with those of some of our rivals, mean it is now a fight between at least nine clubs and I can still see us surviving with at least one of those currently above us going down.

As much as last night felt a real chore to watch, as an earlier poster mentioned, that game won't define our season.
We did what we had to do to grind out a positive result, we'll certainly have a lot more games like that under this manager because, lo and behold, he knows he to set up more than one way based on the opposition.
I guarantee MO'N won't set up like that against Luton.
