What the hell? Have they just given up? Don’t want to be overly harsh as they’re young lads but some of the goals they’ve conceded have been poor. Clinical finishes though......

Liam delap is a very impressive young footballer.
Could we get him on loan next season I wonder?

The good news is a couple of their lads will probably be in our system in a few years time.

Left winger destroyed our no2 in first half hour and prompted the switch to 5 at back I reckon. Despite letting in 6, I thought our keeper looked very assured. Harsh score on him in particular.

I thought 6-0 is a big shame. They played well and unlucky not to level in first half. Once they scored the 2nd, their heads dropped and then quality with clinical finishes destroyed us.
I was happy with what I saw though, some good players in the Stoke side.

I was happy with what I saw though, some good players in the Stoke side. My thoughts exactly. We could have equalised shortly before they got their second but once that went in, we fell apart. Up against a very good City side with home advantage - and boy didn't they milk it considering it was supposed to be a cup final? - they did the club and themselves proud.

Well done to all the Stokies who attended, you deserved more.
At least MON will be impressed and heartened by Stoke' following and want to reward the fans what they deserve, a successful team.

It was their flags on the pitch, their mascots, their announcer, their formalities, their banners. For a supposed cup final and for a club with their resources, they didn't half play it up as a home game.

It was 10 minutes of clinical play/madness from Stoke that ultimately cost us though, the youngsters certainly had the backing of the crowd (what was the crowd by the way has it been announced?)

That Academy stadium is a fantastic place for the Man City Academy U18 team and their Ladies team to play football. Obviously we can't match the wealth that Man Citeh have, but it would be good for our youngsters if they had a "home ground" which actually looked like a proper football ground. Our Academy at Clayton wood is hugely improved on what it was a few years ago and the main building is excellent but the pitch on which the U18 competitive games are played looks like what it is - simply a slightly better equipped pitch than the other pitches at Clayton Wood. If space is a problem any new Academy stadium would not need to actually be sited at Clayton Wood.
If/when we get back to the riches of the Premier League I hope we do try to create an academy home ground which looks like a proper football ground. Imagine if we had spent half the money we wasted on Imbula on creating such a facility? It could also be given a community use with cup finals played there by the local leagues at the base of the pyramid. That would be a great legacy for Peter Coates to leave the club when he shuffles of this mortal coil!
