It’s 50 minutes on Flybe from Edinburgh to Manchester Not really a massive commute time wise considering people commute to that shit hole London from stoke and Manchester by train on a daily basis Have commuted from Manchester to Dublin daily, was only for a month or so ...can be a pain in the arse as not just the flight time you have to take into consideration but beats the train I agree

One hell of a commitment and also a big strain on family life. Surely must have a place around Stoke🤔Then again I suppose the capped one commuted and it did him no harm. Pulis had a midweek pad in BENTILEE mate I’d imagine it’ll be the same with O’Neill WTF?

Plus the chances of Flybe actually being on time are slim! (I'm having to go up to Aberdeen every other week at the moment)

Having done it myself in reverse and London it takes its toll over time which is why he needs proper rest in the summer and the NI thing is such nonsense .
It’s not as though like the chief executive he is getting breaks in the season by. Not attending matches for his £1m a season

He's rightly honoured to be managing his national team. Also, do managers rest in the summer? It's their busiest time.

There's no way he's commuting on a daily basis. He'll be staying locally monday to Saturday and going home after the match on a Saturday

Actually they're quite good for making a point with Hi Susan. I was a bit bored so I dismantled my Corby Trouser Press. I can't put it back together again. Will that show up on my bill?

I spent a year working in stoke Monday -Friday then up with the family in Glasgow every weekend. It's not too bad. He'll be doing less working hours than I was as well. I've read through this thread and waited for a sensible post from you Glasgow. There are many people spend there working week away from home, you only need to travel the country's motorways on Sunday and Friday nights to see how many. Many people commute huge distances. I knew a guy who lived near Southampton and worked in London and he told me there a thousands do it! www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2547962/Britains-worst-commute-Father-SIX-HOUR-round-trip-work-day-clocking-100-000-miles-year.htmlMy father was a commercial traveller and left home on Monday to return late in the week. I spent 2 years working in South Wales with my home in the North East, there are 100.000s who work away from home, maybe more. When Bryan Robson managed Middlesbrough he stayed in a Teesside plush hotel when needed but regularly commuted by helicopter to Manchester. I know this isn't a dick measuring competition but for family reasons I lived in Cheshire and worked in Basingstoke and elsewhere for 22 years. It can be done and O'Neill will probably get a far better expense account than I ever got. Not in the least concerned for him.....

Lots of professionals, especially at his remuneration level will be away from family during the working week and beyond. Given his job is essentially "on the road" anyway - can't see how this is newsworthy.

Given the current longevity of a Stoke Manager can be measured with a watch rather than a calendar, would you really want to relocate your family and spend money buying somewhere ...

The OP is suggesting what MON is doing is a big thing and others were chewing on about it. But as you say it is not a big thing these days. There are many thousands of people who work away from home or commute long distances- it's life for a great many people. Unfortunately there are many these days that going any distance to work is intolerable.

The last time I checked Edinburgh wasn’t easily commuatable to Belfast. What did he do when he was managing for the IFA full-time? Perhaps he stayed at his Mum’s.

Tone, Fuller, Lawrence, Higgy all lived on Wychwood.
Stoke use Cheshire Lamont as the agents, they're not purchased by the club.

Tone, Fuller, Lawrence, Higgy all lived on Witchwood. Stoke use Cheshire Lamont as the agents, they're not purchased by the club. Wychwood I think Pheely Taylor was there for a while as well and Bruce Forsythe in his golf days. Club did have a pad in Trentham Gardens as said before but was sold.
