One hell of a commitment and also a big strain on family life. Surely must have a place around Stoke🤔Then again I suppose the capped one commuted and it did him no harm.

I take it the Helicopter gets a lot of use?
I wonder if he has plans of moving closer any time soon, given the big attraction to the job was a set of owners who are 'just 5 minutes down the road' ?

It sounded like he was living 'round here and his family were still living in Edinburgh. Would have thought they'd follow him down if he was on the reported £1.5m-a-year. Must put a bit of a strain on things to suddenly be essentially living apart from his wife and kids for most of the week. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0824cmj11 mins......

Hopefully O'Neill also has a son good enough to play professional football.

Edit And as I've mentioned Bojan, I still cant believe we let him go. Be years till we see that kind of silky quality again, if ever.

His family still live in Edinburgh, his wife is a primary school teacher and one of his daughters plays for Hearts. AFAIK he spends most of his week in Stoke and only sees the family once or twice a week.

If he has got a plate I wonder if he's ever turned it over to look at the base marks and see where it was made.

I think they used to have a place near Trentham Gardens previously where Hoekstra and one or two others stayed.

I spent a year working in stoke Monday -Friday then up with the family in Glasgow every weekend. It's not too bad. He'll be doing less working hours than I was as well. I've read through this thread and waited for a sensible post from you Glasgow. There are many people spend there working week away from home, you only need to travel the country's motorways on Sunday and Friday nights to see how many. Many people commute huge distances. I knew a guy who lived near Southampton and worked in London and he told me there a thousands do it! www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2547962/Britains-worst-commute-Father-SIX-HOUR-round-trip-work-day-clocking-100-000-miles-year.htmlMy father was a commercial traveller and left home on Monday to return late in the week. I spent 2 years working in South Wales with my home in the North East, there are 100.000s who work away from home, maybe more. When Bryan Robson managed Middlesbrough he stayed in a Teesside plush hotel when needed but regularly commuted by helicopter to Manchester.

It’s 50 minutes on Flybe from Edinburgh to Manchester Not really a massive commute time wise considering people commute to that shit hole London from stoke and Manchester by train on a daily basis
