Not at all. His community work is well documented. Is something I could post but won't. Let's hope he's getting his act together as he wasn't dropped for no reason. Sniff Sniff.

I think it's obvious Onlooker and he has a lot of work to do. Like I said I heard it straight from someone who knows and referred to him just as a 'silly lad' for chucking such a great chance away. A few on her know who am referring to and leave it at that.

No no no Nothing like that. Good, because he’s got quite a reputation for partying hard, and I’m glad it hasn’t moved onto something else.

In my opinion, he doesn't get played because of his attitude on the pitch. I sit with good view of dugout. He back chatted MON. He then did it again after not making himself available for winger, or not getting down wing or something. He gobbed back again, he was taken straight off.

I remember that but can’t think what game it was. He kept stopping and standing with his foot on the ball portraying there was no pass on and clearly him and MON had words. As you say you have to back the manager there has to be discipline so I guess now he has to earn his respect in training to have any chance to get back in? I think that is as it should be?

If Tom is being lippy to the boss, he either needs to change his attitude sharpish or he should shown the door a.s.a.p.

To be fair to Tom he started featuring for us just as the 'rot' of the club was underway in my opinion. As a young player, it couldn't have helped his confidence and the atmosphere around the club was a mess. Last season he showed some glimpses of his ability, his fist goal for us against Norwich was really well taken and he had some decent performances too.
This season hasn't been good for him. I think he's been extremely poor in some games and has been bullied around by experienced attackers. It doesnt help that he has had Ince infront of him who didnt even bother defending under Jones.
I think MON could get the best out of Edwards. He needs tuffening up and hopefully with some more game time he can improve again.

I agree with a lot you say and his confidence wouldn’t have been helped being pitched in the Man City 7-2 defeat and there seemed to some poor characters around him at that time. Thing is, I’m not sure he’s that good and was surprised at the 4 year contract. This may also have effected his outlook. Reality is, we don’t really know, there could be other personal issues. Having read the other posts about his back chat with MON, if true, this will limit his appearances but may be not his tenure. He’s a young guy and it’s in his interest to improve , let’s hope he gets there.

Should we start blaming Tom for everything, rather than Dave Kitson?

Not just Edwards by what he said. Just what fucking state did some young players come back in if these are the fit ones on the pitch?
They must have looked liked Mr Creosote and Rick Waller.

Another terrible decision by the money men with little input from the manager.

At the time I don't think anyone was complaining he got a contract. A lot of people were. Including me. He was in the middle of a poor run of form at the time and he'd shown nothing so far to warrant such a long, extended deal. He should very much have been still on 'trial'.

You hope the people in the club pick up on these issues though.

What chance have we got when the one player who’s supposed to be a supporter and willing to run through brick walls for club can’t even be arsed to keep himself fit for his clubs relegation battle?

He even had the audacity to comment and like a tweet posted by Nathan Heeney imploring the team to leave everything on the pitch.

I stand corrected then , I didn't see the problem in protecting our youth prospects. I just thought 5 years was too long and he hadn't shown enough at that point to suggest he was likely to attract serious attention from other clubs any time soon to make it worth us giving out such a long contract. If it's true he still had 3 years left on his existing deal we should have kept him on that. Or at best, given him a pay rise but kept the length at 3 years. 5 is just far too long you should only be giving that to top players to protect their value or to highly promising youngsters who look likely to have a big future ahead of them. He's probably not on the biggest deal and is probably still amongst the lowest earners. I think people just leap on it as an example of how easily we seem to dish out these long contracts and how few players who get them actually go on to be worth that investment. Pretty much every 5 year contract we've given out has ended up biting us on the arse.
