He doesn’t keep the fullback occupied though does he? Charlton’s fullback scored at Stoke ( their left back), Derby’s left back created the first goal in our 4-0 thrashing( with Thomas nowhere to be seen). As bad as Gregory is, he has more goals and the same assists as Ince, can win headers and runs about just as much. Play him instead. As I’ve said I’d rather trust the managers call on this one!

In a 46 game league season, paying Ince a lot of money for turning up in around 10/12 of them isn't very good business. He needs to be fucked off.

He must be dropped on Saturday and replaced by Campbell. If he insists on 4-3-3, he can play either Gregory or Campbell upfront and the other out wide. It’s not perfect but the best available option.

And my main question is what do fans hope to achieve by continually getting on Ince's back? A positive reaction ?

And my main question is what do fans hope to achieve by continually getting on Ince's back? A positive reaction ? You really think we will get a positive reaction by continually abusing him? Either it destroys any self confidence he may have at the moment (which I suspect is very little) or it makes him less likely to try for fans who don't appreciate him. Be honest do you want to do your best for someone who is continually criticising your efforts?

There is a simple answer to the mystery of Mr Ince, if he has to play as we have no other options. Play him left wing. Let him beat his man and cross it from the byline, left footed. Play Powell on the right, so he can cross, right footed Don't really understand this inverted winger nonsense, never have done - sure change it up during a game for a while (we don't even do it, ever, even for 10 mins), but put players in the right position to maximise opportunity. Simple really. (He is dogshit mind) Spot on. If and it's a very big if, he has to play this is exactly the right thing to do with him. He is currently as much use to the team as a one legged man at an arse kicking party but, if he has to play (goodness knows why) then it has to be on the left because on the right he is of no value what so ever. I just wish I could see (even occasionally) in him what all these many managers that have bought him see. He has been a major let down and this lack of confidence premise is nonsense, on the basis it seems to have lasted from the time he arrived here at least. Come on Tom, make us all look daft, prove all of us doubters wrong and come up with a blinder on Saturday and the same again till the end of the season. I live in hope.

What really annoys me personally about this topic is nobody denies he’s had a poor season but the manager picks him? My guess is maybe the manager agrees he is not sure about him long term but needs to keep him onside now re the relegation run in as he has no better at the moment.
That’s my guess and the constant bitching about him is counter productive.....just get off his back until we are safe....I believe in the manager and from what I’ve seen I trust his judgment.
If and a big if .... If we stay up I think we’ll see major changes!
Just my two penneth.....if you don’t agree keep bitching away!

I’d even put Edwards on the right ahead of Ince. Although Edwards isn’t great and wouldn’t offer much going forward, at least he might help Smith a little and neutralise any threat from the right hand side.

He should be talismanic in this stoke team, standing head and shoulders above all the team in the talent and creativity he brings to the team. Unfortunately there is zero creativity on a consistent level.
Cuts inside, totally one footed and apart from the odd little skip along the edge of the penalty box and then fluffs it I dont think I have ever seen him turn a CB or full back inside out.

Say what you like after the game on here. He should know not to look on social media. Appreciate things he does well or has improved. For example his tracking back has improved immensely under O'Neil and his awareness of dangers is far better than Mclean's who often reacts too late to danger. Above all cut out the abuse during the game. We want and need him to play well for the rest of the season.
