I don't know if anybody else feels like I do at the moment, but I have been supporting stoke for nearly sixty years and I have never felt so fed up and depressed with them as I do now.i know I should get a life but when you see some of the performances that stoke have come up with this season ,especially with all the money we have paid out for players,it pisses me off.maybe I should just go and find a hobby to take my mind of the football on a Saturday but when you have been following your team for so long it is a hard habit to break.

No, I don't. 18 or so games ago maybe, but since MON came to us we have seen improvement, and goals, and at least have some hope of staying up (and kicking on next season) Strange you should post this now...delayed reaction to NJ?

Ive totally lost interest myself. Too much money, players who couldnt give a shit about fans, people running the club allowing us get into this state.

This season is worse than the Brian Little season. We have a loathsome bunch of players.
We just need to get this season done and hope this manager gets some backing and builds a team around Campbell, Collins, and Powell.

Under Jones you did not know where the next draw or win would come from. It is completely different under MON . I have hope with MON. Every game I think we have a chance. It is just a pity th eplayers on occasions don’t agree with me. 5 more wins and a couple of draws will see us ok.

I have a lot less interest in football in general over the past 18 months, but bizarrely I'm possibly more into scfc only. For sure the current players and managers have let us down repeatedly, even O'Neill didn't convince me at first.
But the introduction of Campbell and Powell, both available at the start of the season, but the manager wouldn't play them, have made, with some setbacks still, a huge difference. Powell is such a stylish player and Campbell is turning into a much better player than his old man, though he may not score as many, time will tell.
Despite setbacks resultwise we have done very well over the last 6-7 weeks and if we can continue to build on that and keep the same man in charge things look quite promising from where I stand.

Maybe we need more empathy and connection with the club and a focus that we can identify with. We have become customers rather than fans and we are not happy with the product that we are being offered. I feel that we needed a really good cup run or perhaps a couple of outstanding new young players who lit up the pitch. So effectively we need a "cause" or a "project" which we could get behind and shout about.

I’d got to the point under Jones where I’d not even be able to bring myself to celebrate when we’d score!! When you think about it that’s crazy but that’s how much the club had drained the fucking joy out of me. MON has relit the fire for me!!

Oldpotter....I feel your pain mate I really do i posted something very similar a while ago as I was really really not enjoying the whole match day experience Thankfully under MON I'm getting some of it back....I think it's mainly the poor players we are having to put up with but I'm afraid that's a consequence of how low we've sunk I think it will go right to the last couple of games (Brentford and Forest) as to whether we stay up or not !!! Just hope MON stays no matter what happens though as the door to his International job is still wide open for him and if we go down I reckon he will be gone...I really hope not but would he want to manage this lot in league one ?

I'll tell you what as well, we need to change the badge back to the city crest and move back to The Vic too.
That'll sort everything out.

I agree that a lot of this is 'woe as me' bollocks but at the same time this is not just your usual football feast or famine cyclical decline that affects most clubs. We are in danger of completely throwing away the best financial legacy we're ever likely to have as a football club and it's entirely self inflicted. Every single bit of it has been an act of self harm and those responsible are still in positions of power making exactly the same mistakes with absolutely no lessons learned. The latest fiasco involving Chappell is testament that.
There was never any 'major overhaul', there were never any 'lessons learned' as promised and guess what, we continue to plummet. Add into the equation that most of our players are actually nobs who actually have contempt for fans and it's fair to say that this is not a golden time to be a Stoke fan.

I think it’s all the games we scored first that does me in, The high of scoring first is amazing like Saturday 2-0 up wow, but the one that has me scratching my head was Birmingham city away they hadn’t been in our half the first 60 minutes we go 1-0 up and I think we’ll that’s it then we’ve got this, and we lose it still can’t believe it 🙄

People are just frustrated at what has unfolded before their eyes. Years ago it was different. We were virtually penniless. After spending 60M+ across three different managers, supporters are well within their rights to expect a bare minimum of performance that just simply hasn't been there. Nobody can expect promotion from this league but to be sat fourth bottom is not acceptable.
What we've had is millionaires treating the club like a holiday camp and when questioned and criticised publicly, have been greeted with contempt, ear cupping and shushing.
It's enough to test the patience of a saint.

Every time we lose it hurts, I must admit that, but never more than after a defeat as the last one at QPR. It hurts because it matters, I can't just press a button and say I don't bother anymore! As a supporter since the mid seventies I have experienced worse things than this being relegated to the third tier twice!Still I couldn't stop caring as it would pop up in my mind regularly several times every day. I believe I'll stick around supporting this club as long as it exists, but I certainly agree there have been enough negative experiences the last three seasons. Still there is always a hope of better times to come, and under O'Neill it has certainly been better! A win on Saturday and life is good again! That's the nature of being a football fan I guess!

I think there have been worse times but the frustrating thing about our current situation is that most of us saw it coming and had to sit back and watch, powerless, whilst those in charge kept repeating the same mistakes. They're still in charge and still can't see what all the fuss was about.

They're still in charge and still can't see what all the fuss was about. At least we now seem to have brought in a manager mature and able to handle the situation. The owners are still willing to spend money to bring us success, and we also have a lot of very good youngsters coming up! Hopefully better times will be seen in the Potteries very soon!

Got to be a bit positive I think.....so long as we scrape up form has been better than league position will have been if put over a season. That is essentially with the same squad and then hopefully MON can get more out at the season end with better quality and the right positions coming in?
We just have to stay up!

I tend to feel worse when i feel we have been cheated out of a result by poor/biased referees. That wasn't the reason we lost last weekend so it was just a defeat in my book, during a period where we have improved and the players have been putting in a shift.
I get your frustrations on the money side, but the last thing we need is seasoned older supporters acting like snowflakes, there are enough of those already.

My husband’s gone to live with his mother, I actually look forward to Stoke at the weekend. It’s keeping me going. My husband didn’t like football, into carp fishing instead so watching Stoke is my identity. It is depressing watching them lose and it takes a few days to get over it but it’s all right isn’t it, much better than the dross of Nathan Jones. Stoke have had some fantastic wins since Boxing Day; Sheffield Wednesday, Swansea, Wet Bum....erm...
