reality smacked us in the face today, we have concede 11 goals in the last 4 games, and to top it all wigan, Barnsley and even luton are picking points up .it made me laugh ,the other week people were saying we are heading for the play off, then in the space of 3 weeks we are back in the mire.our defence is a joke and jack butland is nowhere near the player he was,if he doesn't want to play for us then drop him and put somebody else in.

Can't really comment on Davies as he's played one game, I'm surprised many can tbh, but Federici did nothing wrong in the few games he played this season.

If we do the powers that be in the boardroom need to hang their heads in shame. After 52 years of following us through thick and thin I never ever thought I would see the day again when we would be back in League 1 after promotion to the Prem back in 2008. We are a clusterfuck of a club now and deserve to be where we are after the last few years of gross incompetence arrogance and complacency. I for one won’t be renewing my season ticket if the inevitable happens and I think loads more will follow. It really hurts to write this but after today’s garbage it’s hard to see anything else but relegation biting us on the bum big time. Well done Scholes and Coates Junior you could not run a piss up in a brewery let alone our great football club.

I expect you'd get about 24/1 on a Potteries derby later this year.
Vale are in the play-offs but have played more games than their rivals so say they are 2/1 to make the play=off then 4/1 to win them so 8/1 to be in Div 1 next season, we must be about 3/1 to go down, so the odds on an 8/1 shot AND a 3/1 shot coming in are about 24/1.
If my maths are roughly right then worth a bet I fancy.

According to oddschecker we are 7/1 to get relegated and vale are 10/1 to get promoted. So 87/1 double.

Unwashed friend is the reason I know, although he reckons they'll come up short and do well next season. Kiddy fiddlers are in a 3 from 4 situation for automatic. Think they will go up. All irrelevant as we aren't going down, we basically have a 4 point cushion because of goal difference with some average teams to play at home yet

Thanks for sharing, I got Vale's promo odds roughly right but massively over-estimated the chances of us going down. To be honest at the odds you share there I think there is value in either bet or the double.

Think we have to face it - we've had our decade in the limelight (and it was for the most part an amazing journey and a privilege to be breathing the rarified air of the Prem) but now we're back to the level we always were - a yo-yo 2nd-3rd tier club with a parochial victorian pot-bank owner mentality refusing to (or having no idea of how to) embracing the changes in the game and using their huge wealth wisely to sustain a top tier presence.
I really hope Vale come up -I don't have the visceral hatred that some seem to have for our fellow citizens - at least there'll be a bit more local incentive and maybe some excitement in being a big fish like Sunderland - although I believe we will struggle as they have & we may have to go through a Wolves type transition involving rock bottom to truly break out.
To have ANY chance of recovery we have to face a root and branch reformation of the CLUB - it's not about managers & players now we are beyond that, the club has not embraced the changes nor kept up with the times, taken ridiculous cheapskate options and at the same time spluriging STUPID amounts of money on rubbish players and crazy contracts.

Good Post mate. Only bit I cannot agree with is the bit about The Vale. They have complete and utter contempt and hatred for all things Stoke City. You will never meet a Vale fan who has anything positive or encouraging to say about Stoke City Football Club. Why? Jealousy? Maybe/Probably! Being in the constant shadow of a clearly much better club? definitely! Us losing is much more important to them than them winning? Absolutely! i was around the last time we were crossing swords in the league and trust me, they were a vile lot and they would happily chop off one of their own legs with a rusty saw to see us fold if they could.

With regards to Vale , in a strange way it gives me belief. They have nearly gone out of the league 2 years running. The manager must of put his own stamp on it and sorted the wheat from the chaff. Hope springs eternal after our 3 seasons of turd that next year things might be a lot rosier ( can't be any worse )

That said, I cannot abide anything that emanates from Gresty Road ....
