Hope they win it and refuse to lift the trophy!
I also hope that they take UEFA to the cleaners.

trouble is that, when you have club owners as rich as those of Man City, there isn't really much point in giving them a big fine if they breach the rules. Their owners could pay any fine without batting an eyelid. They can't deduct them points or relegate them from domestic competitons, as that can only be done by our own authorities. So a European ban is the only effective punishment that will hurt the owners. It is a second offence as well, so I'm not surprised the punishment is as harsh as it is. I expect lawyers on both sides of the argument will be looking forward to bumper pay days over the next few months!

Manchester City and their new money have a face that simply doesn't fit where the suits want to take the European competitions.

Next few months could see football journalists spending more time in court rooms than at football games 😊

Fair enough but look at our own FA and their different treatment of clubs depending on how big they are and the number of glory hunting parasites that cram the pubs when they are playing (that’s not Man City BTW). But I remember when Swindon got relegated two divisions and for the same offence Spurs were deducted 12 points. BM

"The reigning Premier League champions have also been fined 30m euros" UEFA are making money through the Emirati owners in the same way Trump is making money through Saudi kings.

BM True - but credit to UEFA for not favouring the big clubs at the expense of the minnows. I suppose Leeds are the biggest English club who have REALLY suffered a mega penalty in the domestic leagues for their trangressions. Made worse of course by their uncanny ability in recent years to blow promotion after looking home and dry.

Cue the inevitable appeal where lawyers are tied up for years, so the ban will be postponed until after the appeal, or something along those lines. They'll find a way out of it

It might be bollocks but you shouldn't be able.to just ignore the rules no matter how rich you are. We seem to be tied in knots with FFP so I don't get how wanting someone else to get away with it makes any sense. Feel sorry for Man city supporters but not their tyrant owners.

They'll find a way out of it My Man City mate said this would happen and said the issue here is that the sheik if he wants has the money to tie this up for years with lawyers and in the end if it’s overturned the whole FFP becomes broken.

Grest fun while it lasts but I can't see it being upheld on appeal, they will surely have smart and unscrupulous lawyers.
