Simple answer, I don’t. Such as narrow minded generalisation/hate of a huge group of people and their team is nuts. If you’re an idiot you’re an idiot, there’s plenty about but I don’t like to pigeon hole them.

...and hate another team?
Birmingham F'cking City. Blues this, blues that...all I ever heard when working in Sutton Coldfield, even when living in Kidderminster for my sins. A guaranteed shite away day from the minute you step out of New St to be greeted by West Midlands finest, the usual walk through Digbeth to St Andrews....The riot match & the attempted media white wash of Birmingham City actions afterwards (I remember watching Central Weekend the Friday after....Jesus!) The usual shite performance from Stoke in one way or another, and then the march back to New St.
Trevor Fucking Francis....need I say more.!
Can only think of one good thing....didnt we sign Sir Jimmy Of Greenhoff from em?

Personally I have a lot of time for Sheffield United right now, partly because I went to University in Sheffield and worked at the Sheaf Island the whole time which tended to have a big matchday crowd. That said if we play them or anyone else I'll always want us to win and won't feel the slightest sympathy. Both my kids are at uni there now which means Sheffield is their temporary second home, so for some reason that means I'm happy that Sheffield United are doing well at the moment. In fact my son is looking at houses right by Bramhall Lane for next year, though he's a Stoke fan through and through and it's only because the location is central. My daughter hates football with a passion though so she couldn't give a shit!! 🤣 They will love it if they don't already, already know it's where I'll retire to one day. My girlfriend's still there in her fourth and final year now and I use it as an excuse to go whenever I can!

I do hate Liverpool and not just because of the big club glory-hunting supporters. Loads of Irish fans Fallout of Hillsborough and all-seater stadiums The victims and lately this Jurgen Klopp love-in I have a random dislike of Fulham - plastic club Also the "least hateable club" has to be Norwich. Apart from maybe Ipswich fans, can any other set of fans get angry about a bunch of biege farmers??? Truly difficult to hate Norwich I love the fact we have plenty of haters out there Sorry matt, I hate to dip my fly in your ointment mate but I've really disliked Norwich and Ipshit for donkeys years. More the fans really than the clubs themselves. I think it goes back to the 90's when some of there fans thought that they were much bigger and better than us. Stupid inbred redneck carrot crunching pig fuckers. You see, they really irk me. haha fairplay, Im actually glad someone can find a reason to hate. I just find them so biege

I had to have another think as I may have come across rather strongly. There are a few fans of other clubs who I don't want to lynch from the neareast lamppost. Some of them are actually rather decent chaps & chapesses. Just a few, mind. But do I really hate every other club? ...... On reflection ...... yes.
- they may well have embarrassed us in the past
- they may have (had) a player or manager who deserves to burn in hell for all eternity
- they may have the potential to embarrass us in the future
- I might have been bricked / got p1ss wet through / had my car windows put in etc. when going to an away match
- I might never have seen them play but trod in some dog doo dah somewhere within 20 miles of their stadium
- I might never have even been near their town but could potentially be disappointed by a dearth of licquorice allsorts in any nearby newsagents
So many reasons to hate. Be safe - hate first, ask questions later.

Hate is a very strong word.
I dislike Man U very Much. Mainly because all my mates growing up chose to support it's because they were winning everything. None are from Manchester.
It's always great to see them especially now with there on off field problems.
Arsenal a small dislike towards them due to the fact they hated coming to our place.
Vale I don't have to much dislike. Appreciate they probably hate us but I don't mind any local side doing ok. Although Crewe can stay in League Two.
Liverpool I think they are superb at the moment and don't see why there is hatred towards them. For me don't get this oh you will never here the end of it if they win the league. I hope they do win it.
Also don't get hatred towards Bournemouth and other clubs just my opinion.
So for me it's only really United. Apart from that good luck to all.

I hate more or less every other club other than Stoke. Probably because they aren’t Stoke more than anything
But the first reason I get to hate them they’ll be on the list. How it should be in my opinion.

Every teams supporters do it, its part of the football culture, it would be dull if everyone said (including players) "well done old boy!" We even hate our own team quite often!

Sheff Utd stopped us winning the league, twice, the bastards! I don't hate Forest Green Rovers! Have we ever played them? Saying that, they are veggies? I'm torn on Forest Green, I think the whole sustainability and vegan thing is quite cool and if they weren't a football team I'd really love them for it. For me one of the reasons I don't give a fuck about a lot of the southern teams is because many don't have much importance to their respective cities and areas, or the same history. I like the grim midlands and northern teams where the cities and areas live, breath and die their team. Although I think our badge is a bit on the naff, cheap side I do like that of all the things we have kept it's the 'The Potters' at the very least. Our industry and football team are the centre of the town's identity. Being progressive and environmental are great, but it's not an identity that reflects what makes a team special. Personally I've always liked this badge design someone mocked up... Marketable and modern. I think the south is infested with more lily liveried glory hunters than the north and midlands. In Bristol for example I reckon there are more Liverpool and ManU fans than there are Rovers and City which is pathetic. But there are exceptions like Pompey who have fantastic local support and Plymouth Argyle who have further to travel than any other club yet regularly take thousands away. They played at Salford in a 4th division game on Tuesday and had almost half the crowd! BM

If you really believe that the modern day contempt for Arsenal football club is because one of their players had the gall to break his leg against our sunshine boy then I would question whether you are actually a Stoke fan. Sorry! The modern day dislike of Arsenal stems from our very first fixture against them in the Premier League where Mr Wenger was very complimentary after our team had deservedly beaten them, before, from 170 miles away, changing tack and slating us because we were overly physical, didn't play football and were more akin to a Rugby club. We then had images ahead of their 2nd fixture at the Brit of them training with Rugby pads and such like. The fact that Ramsey broke his leg and Wenger played the "deliberate card" and perpetually and almost slanderously ridiculed our captain and our football club simply added to the contempt in which we hold that godforsaken club. Football is an irrational game with irrational loyalties. It's all part of the attraction. I never want Arsenal to win. Were they playing Wolves or Port Vale, even Burnley, I'd want the opposition to beat them. It's time to forgive Wenger. He's an old man now, nobody wants him anymore, he won't ever get another job in football. For all his misguided sayings, he did a whole lot more good for the game in England than he did bad. Eh? He's the Chief of Global Football Development at FIFA now.

Wolves for any of us in Stafford. Interesting Ihave often thought that there is a North South divide in Stafford, personified with the Wolves v Stoke support. Do you live or originate from the N end or the South ? Changing the subject I don’t particularly dislike Man U, but I do hate their fans. There are quite a few in Stafford but few have ever been to Old Trafford. 🤨⚓️

Tribalism is part of human nature. For “us against them” to work there has to be a “them”. Other clubs are no different. Look at the Brighton v Palace rivalry, it’s one of the fiercest in English football because in the absence of local rivalries of note both clubs found reasons to hate each other. "absence of local rivalry", Palace are in London with plenty ? Palace and Brighton mutual hatred runs deep.

Hate is perhaps too strong a word but I do take issue with the behaviour of certain clubs and certain supporters and sometimes it is both. Arsenal for example for historical reasons and more recently due to the behaviour of Arsene Wenger, I am sure that in his new role he will create antagonism for anyone who thinks that attending a football match does not need to resemble an evening watching the national ballet. I don't think it unreasonable that Liverpool have become premier league champions given some of their performances this season and at the end of the season the table has a habit of being truthful but the behaviour of an element of their support and those who condone it I can do without thank you. Bournemouth do not really have enough supporters to make a judgment on but the on field behaviour of their players in diving, time wasting, feigning injury, trying to con the referee for me sucks the enjoyment out of any game, , this and the media pushing Eddie Half a game as a future England manager, no thank you but I do suspect that a new manager and change of approach would see the animosity disappear. The so called top teams, in reality the wealthiest, I don't think of them as clubs in a traditional sense to me they are more like a marketing operation with a football team attached as an afterthought. The amount of money they are allowed to invest or spend by virtue of FFP creates an uneven playing field which will always put them at odds with others. Finally local rivalries, even when the other side are not even in the same galaxy let alone orbit, a certain club not a million miles from our stadium comes to mind, irrational behaviour is never going to be far away.

I think it’s because our club is so unsuccessful (one major trophy and even that was the least prestigious one) I reckon if we had won the fa cup and the league like we should’ve done during the 70s we’d be way less hateful.
Personally, as great as it was in many ways, I actually found Leicester winning the title a bit galling too. Before that point I’d found their fans a bit arrogant and deluded, with a totally unearned sense of grandeur - and then they go and win the title and it makes it seem like they all knew something that we didn’t, when in reality even broken clocks are correct sometimes.
I still maintain that short-term variance in football is grossly underestimated and misunderstood, and in reality the odds of a “miracle” like that happening are, whilst long, clearly nowhere near the 5k/1 (or even the 1k/1 you can still get these days) that the bookies offer. And I think people don’t understand what a short-term sample is either. “The table never lies” is a cliche’ of pure ignorance.
So ye, to cut a long story short, I fucking despise every club that is more successful, and I also fucking despise all the poxy clubs that are as successful as ours (Swindon, Luton, Oxford all have a league cup don’t they?)

I quite like Crystal Palace though. I guess if we feel bad about our trophy cabinet then you can always think of those poor buggers with 0 major honours. They’ve not even had the benefit of being so totally shit in recent times that they were able to win a few tinpot league trophies.

I suppose you hate the fact that other clubs are more successful than we are.
In nearly 160 years of existence nearly every club have been more successful than we have, while some have been way more successul. It's a tough one to swallow and we keep swallowing all the time.
