I love this board I really do. The gossip, banter, disagreements, photo's + everything else. What I can't get my head around is how many other football clubs we hate!!! Bournemouth, West Ham & Leeds seem to be up there currently.
Arsenal, Man Utd, Leicester, Cardiff,Liverpool and of coarse the Vale have all been hammered on this board. How many clubs do we actually hate?
Over to you.

Can’t think why we would hate Leicester, I do really despise Bournemouth (Shithouse cheating bastards) and West Ham (for stealing Arnie and their supporters playing Billy Big Bollocks). I’d like bad things to happen to both clubs.

Older viewers will remember the Stockport thing. Then as soon as we went up and left them, that was it.

Bournemouth, West Ham & Leeds seem to be up there currently. Arsenal, Man Utd, Leicester, Cardiff,Liverpool and of coarse the Vale have all been hammered on this board. How many clubs do we actually hate? Over to you. Bournemouth - cheating, diving scum Wet Spam - in the past mainly because of their deluded fans. They won us the World Cup, you know. In more recent years, what their board have got away with re public funds. Leeds - recently? We've hated them for at least the 50 years I've been a Stokie. I've lived in Leeds for 35 years so their traditional post-Christmas demise is always a thing of joy for me.
I wouldn't have put Leicester in our top 6 of most-hated. But I'm sure they get their well-deserved share of bile from us. Why well-deserved? Because they're not Stoke, they're some other team.
Generally, we hate everyone who ISN'T our beloved Stoke.
For those that have a "second team" that probably means they just hate them a bit less than everyone else.
Fair enough in my book.
Do I admire any other teams? Begrudgingly there's a few that I do. But I still hate them at the same time.
The only question for me would be how far down the league pyramid do you go before you find a club you don't hate. I think I'd have to be somewhere into the realms of "Who are they? Never heard of them" before I found one.
I am, of course, balanced & fair in all my other outlooks on life.

Personally I have a lot of time for Sheffield United right now, partly because I went to University in Sheffield and worked at the Sheaf Island the whole time which tended to have a big matchday crowd.
That said if we play them or anyone else I'll always want us to win and won't feel the slightest sympathy.

Tribalism is part of human nature. For “us against them” to work there has to be a “them”.
Other clubs are no different. Look at the Brighton v Palace rivalry, it’s one of the fiercest in English football because in the absence of local rivalries of note both clubs found reasons to hate each other.

Personally I can't say I hate any club. I don't like the big clubs.. Man utd, Liverpool but that's mainly down to them winning a lot since I was born in 1970. It seemed like Liverpool won everything for years and then likewise Man utd. I love the underdogs in football

Can only imagine it might be related to losing out in the 1996(?) play-offs semi final to them. But that karma-cancelled itself wen we went up to the Prem and relegated them to League 1, 12 years after surely?

Bournemouth is a temporary thing re their current penchant for cheating And them being a league 2 club Their antics infuriate me enough already and they're a league above us. If we stay up and they go down then I'm doubling down on my hate of the tinpot bastards. And I will revel if they get a fucking 1000 point deduction sending them all the way back down again. I'll go all Keegan.

The only club I don't really like is MK Dons because they're a franchise not a football club with a long history

I don't hate Forest Green Rovers! Have we ever played them? Saying that, they are veggies? I'm torn on Forest Green, I think the whole sustainability and vegan thing is quite cool and if they weren't a football team I'd really love them for it. For me one of the reasons I don't give a fuck about a lot of the southern teams is because many don't have much importance to their respective cities and areas, or the same history. I like the grim midlands and northern teams where the cities and areas live, breath and die their team. Although I think our badge is a bit on the naff, cheap side I do like that of all the things we have kept it's the 'The Potters' at the very least. Our industry and football team are the centre of the town's identity. Being progressive and environmental are great, but it's not an identity that reflects what makes a team special. Personally I've always liked this badge design someone mocked up... Marketable and modern.
