The perfect way to piss off Newcastle's new owners is to stage something unpalatable to their beliefs at every televised match. Have two gay men passionately embrace in the centre circle, get a beautiful woman in a scanty bikini to sing the national anthem before the match, open beer drinking and gambling. Lets see how long their passion for football lasts with that lot being beamed back into Saudi homes, week in and week out. Ive worked in the middle east and ive worked with Arabians over here, when they are over here they live how they want because Allah doesnt see them in a non muslim country, this is actual words out of their own mouths. When in the middle east ive seen them be openly gay for a single day of the week and then condemn gays every other day

Hopefully their culture has progressed from the pre-oil era. Tunisia has advanced considerably. I referred in an earlier post to Lawrence of Arabia becoming a savage murderer. Here is the "no prisoners" clip from the movie. I don't think the Arab fighters were talking their orders from Lawrence, were they? Who do you think they were taking their orders from? The point about Lawrence was he was an academic, who found himself in the army, who did not know what to do with him. So they sent him as a liaison officer to the Arabs because he was familiar with their culture. Lawrence convinced the king that the Arab tribes who were constantly fighting each other that they could unify and throw off Turkish rule. That suited the UK, at war with Germany, as the Ottoman Empire was on the side of Germany. Having gained the confidence of the Arab king, Lawrence coordinated the Arab revolt against the Turks, thereby being highly significant in winning WWI in the middle east, and the end of 6 centuries of the Ottoman Empire. This thread is criticising the Arab culture. It should not be forgotten that the Ottoman Empire engaged in more than its fair share of genocide. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ottoman_Empire

You are better informed than l am, but l was just making the point that Lawrence as an Arabist and a British Army Intelligence Officer, was advising / influencing the Arab tribes to (as you say) join forces against the Turks, he couldn't instruct them to do so. They had to have confidence in his knowledge of their culture and his good faith for him to have any sway.

I'd be happy with Stoke being owned by the Devil if it meant winning the Premier league and I'm sure most would agree, all this outrage is rubbish. I'd even throw in sacrifices if that would help us win. You'd be OK with anyone buying us?

Not going all Galactico early on. Upgrading their quota of Brit grown players in first so that they can go ape with all the spenny overseas born? Not a bad shout for them as a first signing, they only have 4 CBs, only two are under 30 and one of them Schär is out of contract in the summer. And…. hopefully keeps their noses away from our Harry

Apparently Man Utd, Liverpool, arsenal and spurs tried to block the takeover-worried? Well Spurs and Arsenal needn't worry, because the rate they're going, they aren't going to be competing with the big boys again anytime soon now that their little dream of the Super League has all but vanished.

Don’t think they’ll waste any time doing it either.

The way the game is going, a club would have to spend £500m just to try and stay in the Premier.
This game we love is going to go tits up bigtime. Which may not be a bad thing if it puts clubs back on an even footing.
