How had this erupted into an argument?
It was a great decision by MON.
If you're a player in training/dressing room, and there's any doubt whatsoever about your teammates commitment when the chips are down, it's a recipe for disaster.

It really isn't You brought up Arnie, who these pair of fuckers combined couldn't lace his boots, I didn't blame him for leaving at all. At least we made proper money on him. We'll make NOTHING on these two while making our team weaker. I don't get why you would stick up for them. Because you're slaughtering them based on absolutely nothing. (I'm just repeating myself now) but for all you know, O'Neill might have been told of our impending FFP problems when he was offered the job and Badou and Etebo were identified as the two players who we were most likely to get interest in and EVERYBODY involved, was on the same page. It's no less likely to be true, than the pariahs you want to turn them into and this season Badou had been nothing but a model pro on the pitch in every aspect but you just want to deamonise him without any evidence whatsoever. This is the correct interpretation from what I'm told...a meeting was held and a few players pinpointed who's wages we need off the books, the manager has to agree that we try to move those players out. The players themselves probably don't want to play in this league, fair enough, but as as far as I can see they were professionals and put a shift in for us when we picked them. We are still trying to find a team to take on another one of our defenders who is on very high wages, but it doesn't mean he's a lazy disloyal twat

I doubt either will be coming back under the present manager. It’s all about putting a team together rather than individuals. If we have not learnt that over the last few years we have learnt nothing.

Thought they ran enough imo, but clearly when asked they've intimated/said that neither their short or long term futures lie at Stoke. So it ends there really re commitment.

Why is Etebo getting abuse?

Amazing. They'll be both back here in the summer begging to be part of the MON football revolution. The pair of wankers couldn't wait to get out - GOOD RIDDANCE. I have no problem with MON getting rid, I was merely adding facts to the debate..... Don’t do that! Let people make their own facts up, its more fun that way 😂

There’s a lot of supposition and hearsay on this topic and people are adamant they’re right. I don’t agree with abusing them because we had poor performances. It wasn’t just down to those two but rather the whole team. That same team are looking transformed so it’s unfair to say that Etebo and Badou wouldn’t be part of that had they stayed.

Good players, but both offer very little in terms of end product which is an issue in a team with few goals from our wingers and strikers. Powell and Clucas possibly aren’t as good on paper but they both offer more going forward and the team looks a lot more balanced.

I thought Ndiaye started to look less interested after Jones left, if I recollect properly he was very poor against WBA and didn’t seem to have the same level of commitment

At this mone thing we are playing well and winning without them if they didn’t want to go they wouldn’t have left and we wouldn’t have let them. Time to put a pin in it and crack on with what’s putting points on the board now

Etebo came on as sub in the first half for his debut at Getafe, since then he has had a 5 minute and 20 minute cameo as sub and that’s it.
They annihilated Valencia at the weekend with a great performance so I doubt he’s getting in that starting XI any time soon.
Ndiaye has started 6 times (3 league, 3 cup) and they’ve won them all so he’s faring a lot better.....

The Etebo loan appears to be completely pointless so far Etebo missed a lot of games before his transfer came through, so naturally he needs to get back to full fitness before he gets to play full time. If the team is doing well (I have to admit I haven't followed his team at all), then his chance to make an instant impression is slim, but his time will come. It's then up to him to prove his worth.

The thinking will be get his wages (which are not unsubstantial) off the books to help conform to FFP rules as well as create funds/place for someone new. As for Etebo - think he might end up as another Imbula, loaned out until someone takes a punt, if not to the end of his contract - problem is he flatters to deceive, he will look good for a few games, but then will go missing. Shame really, thought he was one of the few players who looked decent under NJ second half of last season, and he offers a direct runner from deep, which is something we don't have, but, if there is any doubts about his attitude, then he has to be pushed out.

Badou can't be sold unless it's for 6 million or so next summer for accounting/FFP purposes? We can't afford to let him go for a couple of million and write off that much loss in one season. Etebo is a quality young player, we should be getting good money for him or keep him and play him.

I've said it all the time that Etebo will return as there is no way Getafe will pay £6-7M for one of their subs! I think the wise decision will be to sell Allen if a decent bid comes in (£10-12M), and convince Etebo he is the ready made alternative. I actually think he is and will increase his value and options after a good season for us in the Championship. If we by chance should get promoted he will certainly want to stay too!

Personally I’d still like to get rid of them, if the club can get near to what is needed.
We’ve not exactly struggled have we since they went, and statistically we’ve been so so much better without them on the field or perhaps importantly not around the place. I’d guess their absence has helped to form a new ‘team’ ethos.

If the African Cuo of Nations goes ahead as planned that could change things for those two players. They could both feature in their respective national teams and up their value and attract potential buyers. That's the theory, anyway.

But the ffp is done I believe over a 3 year rolling period, so it makes no difference whether the £6 million is lost over 1 year or 3. The only time it would make any difference is if he had more than 3 years of amortisation left. Also the sooner he goes the more is saved in wages to offset this.

Yup - I can see Bailey Peacock-Farrell, James Chester, Corry Evans, Sam Cosgrove, Jordan Jones and ALB (a left back). Certainly African footballers are unlikely!

Last season we lost just over 15 Million despite selling Shaq/Grant/Sobhi raising just over 18 Million in player profits. This season we've sold Pieters for 1 Million plus the parachute payments dropped by roughly 10 Million so we're gonna be posting an even bigger loss which is gonna take us dangerously close to that 39 Million ceiling over just 2 years never mind 3, and with next years parachute payments being only 10% of the media package we need to be making profits on any sale not losses.

Etebo has been harshly treated, the best player in a bad side last year. If MoN doesnt want him that's fair enough, but Etebo doesn't deserve any grief, and i for one hope he returns and fights for a place.
