Never shopped there before, but won a 20 quid voucher, and I gotta say most impressed with their offers.
2 dine for 12 quid...
Couple of nice steaks, potato cake thing as a side, apple bram pudding as a desert and a 8 quid bottle of wine...FUCKING MARVELOUS...

Their staff are always spot on as well with their level of service

Not somewhere I would shop every week for food as can be expensive.
Nice to have now and again, especially the coffee cake and chocolate fudge cake, mmmmmm.

Good quality food, always some nice little treats, their Christmas food range is really nice, really good service, but is on the pricey side.
We usually buy a few things at M&S every week but we don't do (can't afford to do) our main shop there every week.

My missus gets some Iced Fruit buns from there because she's Vegan, and the M&S ones are ok for her to eat, and they are the nicest Iced buns I've ever tasted.

Some decent stuff among the overpriced stuff. For example the garlic baguette for me is hands down one of the best you can get in a supermarket as it actually has a decent amount of garlic in it. When I'm feeling pretty bone idle on the way back from a long day driving with work the Tuscan Sausage Pasta dish they have in the ready made meals section is always a winner.

The key to eating with M & S is to focus on getting your main item for you meal from there and pick up your essentials elsewhere.
Fruit, Veg, Bread, Drinks, Buscuits are all super pricey so leave well alone.
3 for £10 on most of the meat etc.. is excellent value for money.

I fucking knew poor people would start going there once they used Paddy McGuinnes to advertise their stuff! We had a similar problem a few weeks ago at our local Waitrose. The waterboard was doing some work outside in the road but their workmen kept nipping in to Waitrose for bottles of water, sandwiches for lunch, etc. We didn’t want grubby overalls and workmens boots mucking up the aisles so, in the end, petitioned the store to put a customer service agent on the door to point out to these chaps that there was a perfectly serviceable Aldi just down the road where they might feel much more at home. Our peaceful equilibrium was quickly restored. As you’ve suggested, the trouble all starts when TV adverts are shown, and all sorts of riff raff begin to think they can just wander in to the store and buy stuff

Their gastro range cottage pie is the best around. Simply serve with peas and a bit of mustard or worcester sauce - awesome!

Good to see you’re not bitter about it It's OK we have a new river front development with a Waitrose next to the marina, with a pub (that I've seen Alan McCinally in as he lives nearby) and award winning curry house next to it

My wife and I decided last Christmas, that rather than buy the usual food, we would go to M&S and have a "different" Christmas dinner.
We decided on Lamb Shanks.
We were very disappointed. I can do far better myself and in the future, I will.
Over priced, low quality basic ingredients, too many "flavourings"
I don't expect to have many folks agreeing with me.
