I have a memory of Mark Chamberlain scoring against us in a 2-1 home defeat in January 1990, a tap in at the Stoke End in a relegation six pointer. I can’t find the scorers in that match to confirm. Guy Whittingham was also involved.

My old man reckons he remembers Peter Dobing scoring against us in the late 50's for Blackburn but I can't see any scoring records with it being Division Two.....

My old man reckons he remembers Peter Dobing scoring against us in the late 50's for Blackburn but I can't see any scoring records with it being Division Two..... Found these details on this brilliant Flickr page. These were the only two seasons that Dobing would've played against Stoke as Blackburn were promoted in 1958 and he never played against us as a Man City player. It was a brilliant direct free kick, his speciality. Late 70s away to WBA. He must have been in his late 30s and didn’t play for us long. MOTD used to show a similar goal he scored for Blackpool back in the day. |
