Surprised Lee Hendrie didn’t make this list. He’s come up before but looking at the respective trajectories of him as a player and us as a club, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’d never even actually played against us. Edit- I guess the one season before we went up when he was at Sheff U

Had a look yesterday for Pompey’s 86/87 Season Wiki page but it doesn’t exist. Alan Ball would have been their manager and they were promoted that season behind Derby (who had only just been promoted from Div 3). Strangely enough, I can hardly remember many goals from recent seasons but remember Tony Kelly’s free kick and the immediate build up (head tennis in the Stoke box) to Pompey’s goal. Both goals at the Stoke End and a good following from Pompey. sublime free kick form Zico Kelly Bayern would hate him, ridiculously overweight, some iffy off the pitch stuff, but what a fantastic player, great range of passing, great vision & the best free kick taker have seen for Stoke myself First goal I saw him score was at a reserve match where he sent the keeper the wrong way < from a free kick > it bent that much formed a perfect midfield two with Brain Talbot (3 in midfield? pfft...not need with those two) only for them to fall out violently away at Shrewsbury Talbot later signed Kelly for Albion I think How many free kicks did Tony Kelly score in first team games? 86/87 Pompey Leeds * * Lee Dixon’s overhead kick in the same game followed a blocked free kick from TK: Crazy that amateur camcorder footage was the best we could manage for some games in the mid to late 80’s. So rubbish and inferior to 70’s footage. Anyone remember that really poor quality season review video for 87/88. The Oatcake description: “Video Nasty” 🙂 This shows a second half goal before the first half goals and where are the other goals? 🙂 I’m certain that last goal is Nicky Morgan v Sheffield United a week later. Leeds was an early kick off.

He was very good to be fair, great movement and link up play and neat finish to add to his great start. At 25 thinks he’s just maturing nicely. We couldn’t handle him or the rest of them for that matter.

Seem to think Michael Kightly scored against us? Have no idea why. I’m almost certainly mistaken. He was shite.

Tyrese Campbell Adding to the list as people suggest (& confirm) more... - goals in official competitive fixtures only - own goals and goals in penalty shootouts don't count I think it's the goals against after the player has left that hurt, not those before they join us.

Could have sworn Harwood-Bellis scored for us when he was on loan to make it player no.102, but alas not......

Do own goals by Stoke players count in this listing ? What about this memorable own goal by Steve Bould when we played West Ham. Go to 1.50 to see this magnificent lob. According to Wiki Steve scored a few goals for us. I'd forgotten what a great throw Mark Chamberlain had.

Prick did it in one game. Quite the achievement. It seems to have been “awarded” to Johansson, which I find a very strange decision PS friendly reminder that for the purposes of this list OGs don’t count
