If you don't like oatcakes then you've been served up the shitty mass produced supermarket crap, only excuse for it.
Therefore the only issue is with the woman in your life, not the coveted Oatcake.

It would be like trying to enjoy a crisp grey goose vodka in happy shopper coke.

They're like Frisbee's, I just stick a shit ton of butter on them with Bacon or Sausage and they're edible. Other ones I've seen I think were called Granny somat-or-other oatcakes which were passable. Povey's, Foley and High Lane for me, but Foley are a bit stingey on the amount of filling. Apparently I am a weirdo for loving buttered oatcakes, specifically Lurpak. Best part is mopping up the bits that melted onto the plate with the oatcake.

I prefer the Pukka as well, you could get them in the freezer section in Heron, probably still can, rarely seen them hot outside of chippys as you say. There was a chip shop in Southsea that used to sell Wrights Pies when I lived around the corner from it, bit strange I thought.

Not sure if they do the meat and potato variant though. With regards to your second point - I've bought Wrights pies in East London and Belfast in the past.

Any road up, back to pies. I recently had an assortment of pies from Staffordshire Traditional Meats of Spath near Uttoxeter, just up the B5030 off the A50 at McDonalds roundabout. My God, you will never purchase a pie from another supplier after eating one of those. Truly, truly marvellous, the zenith of pies.

Never had the pies BUT always have Oatcakes, Bacon, Cheese and Tomatoes (tinned) on a Saturday morning before the match.
Has anybody tried these mixes you can buy on the internet and made their own? Keep meaning to try as I don’t live in the promised land anymore, and have to make do with Tesco.!!!
As a result of this entertaining thread I am going to try a pie next home game.

My nephew is LCFC, has never lived in Stoke, works in the City and is minted. He thinks nothing of spending £300+ on a meal for two. (On visiting the Fat Duck at Bray he thought it was quite reasonably priced. ) Yet one of his favourite foods is Wrights Pies. Whenever he comes to visit his first port of call is Wrights Pies in College Road where he buys a stock of pies to take back to London. Can't fault the lad.

Only complete fucking peedos have condiments/tomatoes on their oatcakes. Bacon, egg, mushroom, sausage and beans. That's it. Maybe an onion. A whole onion? How do you roll the oatcake?

I remember Wigan away a few years ago. Normally I don't buy food in a ground but being rate clemmed I queued up, only to discover the only ones left were cheese and onion. I was pissed off because I don't like vegetarian, healthy options, because I'm not a grimy hippie, but I reluctantly went for it and it was actually alright.
Hope you all enjoyed my little story there.

I watched one of those Narrowboat vlogs on the tube. This guy bought a Wrights M&T down south somewhere. He cruised up through Coventry, and moored in Rugeley. Walking around the town centre he saw the Wright's Pie shop and believed that he had found where they were made.

If you get into Stone try 'oatcakes & Milkshakes'. They make their own oatcakes and do great fillings. They have opened up in Stafford too Nowt wrong with butter btw. I sometimes have them with just butter and pepper, or butter and golden syrup

I’ve been oatcakes and milkshakes, good stuff there. And the shakes are great as well. Butter and pepper sounds like a combo I’m going to have to try, thanks for the suggestion!
