If you have anything of Wrights pastry wise it has to be a jumbo sausage roll, topped off with a custard slice to help wash it down.
God's gift to food.

I don't like Wright's pies much anymore. I used to love them as a little piece of pastry encased heaven. It leads me to the philosophical question... did I change or did the pies change? Mind you last time I had one we reached the world cup semi-final. Like oatcakes....I must be the only person from Stoke who doesn’t get them at all Very overrated are oatcakes Get out

Wrights Pies have pretty much always been shit. Struggling to understand why you're so surprised. I like them funnily enough. I try and get one before the match from the shop in Stoke. Maybe it’s just nostalgia as I live out of town? Mind you, I always feel as sick as a dog afterwards as it floats on top of my five pints of lager,

Never had one, but a guy a few seats from me a curry flavoured pie at HT and it always smells gorgeous . Not a huge fan of the chicken balti. Meat and tater every day of the week for me. Every day of the week? You must be the size of a house.

Had a stand up argument on boxing day when I pointed out that the pie was three weeks past it's sell by date. They couldn't understand why I was not happy.

Someone around me had a curry one. It smelt vile, was making me want to puke.
But I work close to a Wrights pie shop and the pies from the shop are awesome, as are the sandwiches. Love a Wrights Cornish pasty.

Fry it in butter mixed, lash sausage, cheese, sautéed onion on there and drench it in brown sauce and/or some Hendo's relish and it's the perfect hangover cure.

I don't know if the fayre served up in Block 16 yesterday was in isolation but the Wrights pie I had yesterday was fucking shit. It was supposed to be meat and potato but I can only describe it as a 'pastry pie'. The pastry itself which was 90% of the make up of said object, was dark brown, thick and unbreakable, the inside contained what can only be described as a blob of soap. Utter waste of £3.50, and a shocking advert for Wrights. Serve them up in hospitality boxes and see what the reaction is. 50 years or more ago they were amongst the best pies available anywhere, lovely pastry nicely browned and the filling was a delicious peppery mixture of quality meat and potato. They must have gone down the profit at all costs route if that's what they are now. Shame!

Shame! I think that the meat a tata pies went off about fifteen years ago. They became a bit of greasy mince with mashed tata. However, I think that they have improved and are now back on par with how they used to be.

Chiken balti is a lovely pie but meat and potato pie is the perfect football match pie. The filling doesn't dribble down your arm when ate in hand. Anyone from Stoke who doesn't like an oatcake is the bastard love child of a visiting alien race. If The Thing is ever remade in Stoke the who's the alien scene would involve exposure to fresh grilled oatcake.

The ones at the Bet 365 are dogshit.

Their Bacon and Cheese and Sausage and Cheese doubles are bob on though I've got some Oatcakes in the cupboard and all this talk of them is making my mind up about tonight's tea
