I don't know if the fayre served up in Block 16 yesterday was in isolation but the Wrights pie I had yesterday was fucking shit. It was supposed to be meat and potato but I can only describe it as a 'pastry pie'. The pastry itself which was 90% of the make up of said object, was dark brown, thick and unbreakable, the inside contained what can only be described as a blob of soap. Utter waste of £3.50, and a shocking advert for Wrights. Serve them up in hospitality boxes and see what the reaction is.

My pie was delicious. Then again i did get it from wrights in town along with a Viennese cake, and for both, it was a quid cheaper than the pie at the ground. Stadia catering is just a rip off.

Better cheaper pies, proper tea at a quid (£2.10? in the ground) and people who smile and talk to you from behind the counter. They should be in charge down at the ground

Never had one, but a guy a few seats from me has a curry flavoured pie at HT and it always smells gorgeous . Probably a chicken balti, they've stopped doing them in most of their shops now, my lad was gutted, he loves them. Wrights meat and tater have always been overrated imo, too dry and stodgy.

I don't like Wright's pies much anymore. I used to love them as a little piece of pastry encased heaven. It leads me to the philosophical question... did I change or did the pies change?
Mind you last time I had one we reached the world cup semi-final.

I don't know who to blame for this latest debacle.

They do miniature Wrights Pies in the hospitality suites. They're pure magic, although I can't eat more than 12.

Never eat in the ground unless there’s no other option. Sometimes grab a burger from the van up the side of the Locomotive on Heron St - cheaper than at the ground, 10x better tasting, and hasn’t sat in a foil bag for 3hrs drying out in a display cabinet.
To echo Momo’s point above though, the mini pies in the 1863 Lounge are excellent on the odd occasion I’ve been in there.

Wrights Pies have pretty much always been shit. Struggling to understand why you're so surprised. It was definitely shitter than the normal shit, by a mile. Our catering staff could make Gordon Ramsey meals taste like dogshit so it doesn't surprise me one bit that they can make a Wrights Pie taste the same.
