He's still getting a mention in the Welsh press... www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/cardiff-city-january-transfer-window-17639020Given we are so late in the transfer window, it is likely Cardiff will now stick to the domestic market and might even restrict themselves only to loan deals, with Harris rightly stating the club will not overpay for players.
So the likes of Lee Gregory at Stoke City and Josh Laurent, who put in a superb display for Shrewsbury against Liverpool in the FA Cup last night, appear to be the most likely targets.
Not those players per se, but that sort of ilk: The proven Championship goalscorer or the promising League One star.

Just looked at his record. He was a regular scorer in League 1 >2 seasons ago. The last 2 full seasons in the Championship he scores 1 goal every 4 games, but far less for us.

Is Mel Morris completely stupid? They are being formally investigating and they are trying to out bid clubs. Deserve what they get. I'm sure Wayne Rooney will love League 1.

He’s a strange one. I rate him as a player and he’s obviously got the work ethic. Hold up play is very good, does the doggies. But he literally looks like a centre half when he’s got a chance. How many times I’ve told my old man this year who can’t get to games anymore that ‘Gregory missed an absolute sitter’ is testament to that.
So yeah, to summarise that he’s a striker so he’s shit 😂

www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/10781729/transfer-news-live-aubameyang-barcelona-bayern-sane-west-ham-soucek/CRYSTAL CLEAR Crystal Palace are ready to send striker Connor Wickham to Sheffield Wednesday on loan – if they get a promotion bonus. The Eagles have had approaches from Wednesday, Cardiff City and Bristol City for their squad man. Wickham would prefer to head for the Owls where he had previous success in his younger days, but their offer is not the best of the three. However Wednesday may swing the deal by putting in an extra cash incentive if they reach the Premier League.

Unless we get Cosgrove or Shankland now I can't see Gregory going. I think now Hogan has gone, it hangs on an incoming.

I wonder if ONeill is tempted to get rid of Gregory and take a punt on Grigg on loan?

His work ethic is second to none, but if you're going to play him in that striking roll, I'm surprised no manager has yet told him to use his energy in and around the 18yrd box, and not all over the place....he'll never be a regular scorer if he's never in the right place when it matters!!! If a manager what's him to put pressure on the defenders, fare enough, but keep it within the vicinity of the 18yrd box!!! Those are my thoughts anyhow!!!

Gregory supposedly a big earner, Grigg would come cheap and the manager knows him. Swap one bench warmer for a much cheaper one. It could be argued Grigg is a much better finisher than Gregory also. Local lad too (Solihull)

Local lad too (Solihull) We have a bag full of bench warming strikers if Campbell starts then Vokes, Diouf, N'Goy are all available, hard to believe Grigg is better than that group, certainly not Diouf

Can't understand why aren't looking to ship out Vokes. £8M less than a year ago. We must be able to get £6M back for him surely
