On a serious note other than the "Baker" incident personally I've not seen any racist comments aimed at them. Edit: only positive regarding her mixed race and how good it is for him. They are very much loved in the UK as far as I can see. Although granted I dont search for them daily. In 2019/20 do you think it's acceptable for papers like the Daily Mail to talk about her "exotic DNA" or come out with things such as"She's straight out of Compton, at the gang scarred home of her mother will Harry be dropping round for tea" or "She wears bad clothes: when did we ask for that? We’ve just got so much better of our own.” There are many more examples...... Of course not but it's hardly abuse uncalled for definitely and wrong definitely but if that's all the worries they have I'll swap in a heartbeat.

I get but dont agree with the monarchy argument.
However she knew what she was getting into. Harry was born into it. He knew what happened to his mother. His mother also knew what she was marrying into as did fergie etc.
I have little sympathy when they start moaning now.
Unfortunately for him Harry was born into it. He benefitted from a privileged education that most parents would like for their kids. He made his own way in the world. He could have stayed in the Army for a king time but chose to do what he does. Some of the negative press he’s received he brought on himself but for a long time he enjoyed a pretty much positive press.
If he wants to retire from public life his choice. But everything should end

I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, he has had a life of privilege and now he wants to jump ship and ditch any duties.
I'm sure the queen who is 100% committed to her role and duty is bitterly disappointed.
On the other side I hope the recent incidents with Philip's driving, Andrew's associations, and now Harry declaring his independence will be a watershed moment and there is a comprehensive review of the role of the monarch's relatives and what tax payers income they receive and all the costs of travel, accomodation, security, etc.
I am very much a monarchist, much preferring royalty is head of state and representing the country, rather than a president. But it is high time all the hangers on are sorted out. Eg Andrew, his ex, and their brats get right up my nose. I'd strip them of their privileges and make them all look after themselves. I can't stomach Anne either, but I do recognise she works her socks off for charities.
I met Charles once and was very impressed. He had been well briefed, listened, asked intelligent questions and clearly cares about issues like unemployment, social deprivation, and environment.

I think there is common ground between Monarchists like yourself and Republicans (like me) re the Civil List. I recognize there isn't an overwhelming demand for Republicanism at this time (28 months into Charles reign there might be...) The Civil List is too big, the role of the Royals needs to be properly reviewed.

Even though princesses like Andrew and Anne’s kids work they will always have the argument that being born into privilege ensures they get decent education and jobs
If you binned the monarchy the Windsor’s have enough cash and influence to ensure privilege for years

I'd hate to have a political head of state, where most of the population disagree with their politics, e.g. USA, France. I much prefer that judges, politicians, armed forces, etc. swear allegiance to the monarch than "the state". I'd hate to have a "Mickey mouse" president like Ireland. I much prefer a royal handing out the medals and cup at an FAC Final than the PM, or the Minister for Sport. It is far preferable to have royalty as presidents of charities than some celebrity. It has been said that the main attraction of having a monarch is it deprives the kudos from the legislature, judiciary, and executive, that they are not the head of society. As a gardener, I agree with you that for a healthy robust monarchy, it needs a regular hard pruning.

I will give them 3 years before they desperate. I assume it was predictive text for separate if so I think you might be right. She's already left for Canada leaving Harry to sort the shit storm out. They left little Archie in Canada when they came home after Crimbo and she's back and it dunna look like she'll be back "home" to the UK anytime soon.

I wonder if she gave Harry an ultimatum - ditch the Royal job or we're splitting up and I'm off back across the pond for good ? Seems like Harry asks how high when she tells him to jump. Can't do with her - good riddance as far as I'm concerned. If they are buggering off they can repay some of the £2.4 million of tax payers money spent renovating their "cottage" before they go.

Can’t do with her why? You don’t know her, most of what’s written about her is clearly bollocks, not sure how anyone would even have an opinion on her to be honest? Just let them live their lives, as you rightly say the only interest should be that the taxpayer isn’t funding their life style. As long as that’s the case who gives a a shit?

You can’t moan at environmental issues whilst going every where by private jet and expect the press not to have their say Harry was handling it well before she got her claws in him One day he will wake up to her I agree although they have been known to fly schedule flights. Publicity stunt devised by their pr team it makes me sick. Time to ditch the monarchy

Time to ditch the monarchy It does and I agree its PR but the issue is the people advising them. I'm of the opinion you should mind your own business and keep it shut if you're not living up to your words. So poor judgement but I'm a supporter and genuinely love our Royal family but that's not blinkered that they can do no wrong.

There are too many stories, articles, and reports (call them what you will) for them all to be "bollocks". She gives me the impression of wanting all the trappings and advantages of "being a Royal" without having to accept (or suffer) the payback that that entails. Although he was sometimes a bit of a lad Harry appeared to be fairly "normal" and a normal working Royal before Meghan came on the scene, but certainly since their marriage he appears to have changed considerably culminating with this latest episode. I think there are many people who do have an opinion (good and bad) on her and the effect that she's had on Harry and the Royals in general. I have no problem with them living their lives as they wish, but I feel strongly that the taxpayer isn't funding their lifestyle, together with the exorbitant renovation costs of their "cottage" being a prime example. I do support the monarchy and think the Queen, Charles, and William, and their respective spouses all do a good job on the whole. Princess Anne is another who works tirelessly for numerous charities. Meghan hasn't had to endure anywhere near the vitriolic attacks that Camilla did and yet she handled them in a completely different manner - maybe that's the benefit of age ?

I also don't get the "racism" angle about her - as far as I'm concerned she could be American, British, Japanese or whatever nationality (even French ), white, yellow, black, or green with pink spots, and it wouldn't make any difference to my opinion about her. I know she certainly hasn't had to endure vitriolic attacks in the way that Camilla did, but Meghan has spat her dummy out in response to far less. Looks like we'll have to disagree over this.

You only know what people want you to know, so by definition it’s all speculation. I’m not suggesting you’re racist, but a lot of the stuff written about her is, some subtle and some not so subtle......

My Mrs made a good point on this (theres a first for everything i guess ) She said why are the papers full of "saving the monarchy" and "crisis" over a minor royal by marriage taking a step back voluntarily, when they weren't talking in the same language last month about a major royal by birth being forced to take a step back through alleged impropriety ?
