Doesn’t overly look like a winger to me?
He looked a very good footballer but doesn’t look quick or like he’s got a trick to beat his man.
But he did have excellent movement and moved the ball very nicely.
It’ll be interesting to see if that’s the case or he just needs some confidence.

Something which really gripes on me as they are becoming few and far between where they can beat their man down the wing and wip a decent ball in. The best example at the moment is Trent AA and he's a full back! The skill required to hit a perfect cross with pace, height and accuracy is underrated I've felt.

I'm very confused We are desperate for a striker, yet appear to have now signed THREE wingers / Wingbacks this window ? Or have I missed a tactical masterplan unfolding ? what about this one.....there are no decent strikers either available or affordable?

He’s got a good cross and can find space in wide positions so he can use it. I like him.

Yeah but what's wrong with having another nonentity cluttering up the place for minimum a *few months * if your TS replace with 'on a lucrative contract preferably 5 years'

And a wide midfielder generally now has a bit of skill and he didn’t look skilful. But just hoping that was circumstance because he does look very good on the ball.

The point is he's not really a traditional winger but can still affect play from that area.

Superb cross today leading to the disallowed goal. Has to come inside far too much due to lack of forward movement, but at least there is something about him.

He's excellent. Good signing. Comfortable on the ball, takes players on, good movement, intelligent player.

Don't want to be negative because the lad has obvious talent, but... He always seems to be on the periphery of things, almost reluctant to get involved in the game. There were times today when he could have made himself available for a pass and times when he could have driven at defenders but didn't. He is potentially a tremendous footballer, let's hope we can find the key.

He was good today but I’m convinced he’d be better off centrally more as a number 10.

Looked good with the ball at his feet in the first half.
Forgot he was on the pitch in the second half
Clearly not fit and shirked every physical challenge especially when the ball was above waist height.
Has an eye for a pass, has no pace whatsoever but does display good vision and guile.
Interesting to see how much MON can improve him in the coming weeks.

Lacks the pace to make it as a top player but he’s got the talent to have decent career in the Premier League if he works at his game.
I don’t know why in the first half we decided to keep twatting high diagonal balls towards him.

Played well.
Took players on which is something we haven’t seen for quite some time.

Just the way he plays and turns in tights spots and passes and moves. I don’t know he just looks more suited inside. And he drifts a lot inside too but not like an inverted winger. He’s very good with his back to goal too, gets out of spots where you think he’s going to get bullied.

I thought the same about Ince, how wrong was I. I think he could be very good out wide for us, the issue we have is we just don’t get the ball to our widemen in the right areas. It doesn’t help that he has Collins behind him either he’s just not a full back is he. As crap as Smith is, I’d like to see them both giving a run of games down that right side to see if they can get something going.

Definitely agree with you on Smith, we need a right back at right back not a centre half.

But he’s so much better than Ince in tight spots and isn’t afraid of using both feet either. Ince has always been more of an inside forward and why he should have been used more to try and replicate what Campbell does for us. Clarke looks more of a better all rounder.

There's so much more to come give him time and he will be back in the Prem. Lack of games have set him back . Hopefully we can sign him in the summer , Swansea offered good money for him when he was a kid and we are lucky to get him ,I just hope we can keep him once we get him up to parr

He isn’t and certainly not in a position he hasn’t got the balls to play one of the best number 10s in the league in either.
