So you’re happy to play with 10 men and a luxury goal scorer when we don’t create chances? Why not? We played two seasons with a luxury right winger who couldn’t create and needed 20 shots for every goal he scored. Tachyon could probably tell us, but I would think that Campbell has our best chance conversion rate. It certainly won’t be Gregory, Afobe- perhaps Vokes would surprise us? Tachyon- any help you can give? Who’s this luxury right winger?

I wouldn't be surprised if MON gets Fletcher and Afobe to form a decent partnership with Powell behind them slipping little balls thro' the gaps for them. I will say that if that doesn't work out then MON won't be long about changing it.

Depends what you call 'searing'. I'd certainly describe him as fast. Look at the way he motors past the Brentford player here.... He isn’t particularly fast though and that’s been seen on plenty of occasions. The Brentford player may have Brunoesque pace and up against Bruno he would look like the Flash.

I think he is quick without the ball and when he’s running into channels or long balls. But he doesn’t seem quick at all when he’s trying to dribble past a man.

I said a few years ago with McClean at LB every manager would see that as our Achilles heel and it was embarrassing watching him squirm through games.
The same can be said for our embarrassing lack of pace up front, opposing managers can play a higher formation freely against the likes of Fletcher/Vokes/Gregory.
The there’s our lack of pace at the back, again opposing managers can target our slow back line with a half decent paced player.
As it stands MON hasn’t exactly improved the team with players that will challenge for promotion, at a push top ten but in my opinion he’s adding like for like

I WOULD be surprised if O'Neill did that and abandoned what took us from being the worst team in the league by some distance to being a team in play off form. O'Neill will no doubt remember that bringing Powell and Campbell into the team, and having them work together off a target man, is what got us scoring goals. I'd suggest Fletcher looks like being the front man. It's defence that was the problem

Seriously how the heck do you measure quick in a football context?
Shaqiri had blurring foot speed and pace over 2 metres but would always be caught in a longer foot race with a taller player.
And football is side to side and backwards as much as it is a forwards.
And it's not running straight lines, its slalom not downhill.
And someone is pushing and kicking you when you run so you need strength and balance.
And how fast are you really, with a ball at your feet.
It's power steering you need most. Maradona had the best power steering in the world.
