He won’t have too pay us anything back as we never paid him off, he’s still getting paid of us now, john Coates took that option because if u pay up the remainder of the contract, say 2 years at 30k a week that’s nearly 3 million. Now they just would have paid him 5 months of 30k so that 600 grand. Stoke have accually saved themselves money for once. Not sure how mad Nath will like the wage drop back at Luton though, from 30k too say 10k a week

I’d be amazed if he got his old job back from what I was told about his departure and the wrangling afterwards

Either way we will still end up paying off a good amount of the remaining contract because neither Luton or Southend have a pot to piss in so he will be lucky to get a salary of £250k+ a year in the current climate so why would he walk away from a guarenteed £30k per week payday.

There's usually that kind of clause

Surely he will never get another job in football at management level. He’s got a lot of damage to repair but you’d imagine a lower league club would take him. Plenty of failed managers out there that bounce from job to job. He’s got a long way to rebuild his reputation though before he gets another stab in the top 2 divisions.

He looked properly ill for a good six months with us.
He's clearly an intense character.
I think he will get another job within football at some point but he's got to learn from the mistakes he made with us.
He showed some massive flaws at every level: personal and football here. He's got to try and take stock and change them.
I was one of the first for wanting him gone but he seemed like a decent bloke and clearly knows what he's doing at a lower level.
The main things he needs to do imo:
He cannot come back and be so intense, it's not good for him or his family.
He's got to learn to adapt.
He's got to treat players like adults.
They were the 3 main things with us that lead him and us down the path we did.

Pulis was working for WBA. He made a very wise business decision for them. It might have been unethical, knowing he was selling on a narco, but it was strictly business. TP did warn Coates. It beggars belief doesn't it? The fact that TP was working for WBA is not really relevant. We all "know a man, who knows a man" etc. to find out something in a round about way, even if it was inappropriate to ask a direct question. It happens all the time in business. Most jobs are filled by personal contacts, not by advertising and interview. Everybody has contact with everybody directly or indirectly in the football industry just like any other business, and you can find out about someone making discrete enquiries using the right contacts. That's how a lot of the transfer interest rumours on the internet start (apart from agents trying to precipitate something which I think is the most common source of rumours). www.linkedin.com/pulse/new-survey-reveals-85-all-jobs-filled-via-networking-lou-adler
