They haven't taken him away for 12 million and you can stick 30 million pound price tags on Butland all day but no one was ever going to pay it. Butland was rubbish though. Eventually He was brilliant for a time

If we do sell him I hope we have a sell on clause. I think would be a gimme for a young player with so much interest. I can't remember us having a player attracting so much interest if the reports are to be believed so puts us in a strong position. Before we get the usual, Scholes will typically not do this etc comments our last big sale he did. Some will moan no matter what we do. In the current climate it makes sense to sell a atthe right price and whilst no one knows our FFP situation if it helps us strengthen elsewhere then ok. Be nice to get a loan in as part of a deal maybe if one happens.

All over? It's one post fella. And support isn't happy clapping five years of decline and piss poor ownership. So you keep saying. I bet you’re a treat to have a pint with, “fella”. I am actually. I wouldn't have one with you though, you're a nob 😎

Rubbish but called up for England. But whether he was or not there was interest in taking him off our hands and they were the figure being bandied about, which you would expect for an England keeper. Yes he got injured, we went down, he lost his mojo. All I am saying is that we do shit business. Clubs like Tottenham can fleece us with Palacios and Wimmer, Southampton get good money for their players. We get fleeced on the way in and fleeced again on the way out. Why can we sell rubbish players for good. Are you saying because he was in your opinion rubbish then it follows that we should advertise that in order to drive down the price we're selling for? I'm not too fussed whether he was good or rubbish just that we're rubbish at doing transfers.

Nobody was ever going to pay £30m though for Butland, teams watch players if that sort of money is being talked about, anybody that watched butland for the last 3 or 4 years saw a cardboard cut out of the keeper he was in his first full season for us. Nobody will pay £30m for a has been. Collins though is a top prospect with apparantly half the Premiership interested, I agree with others we hold out for the best offer, I can see why we would open talks at £15m though if the money is going straight back into the team, if it isn't though demand £25m so we've got £10m to spend. If they want him they'll pay it. The lad is on a 3 year contract, so pay up or f**k off. Wait another 12 months might not do them any favours, he might be costing £35m with more competition for his signature and totally out of reach for certain clubs

Stoke have certainly built a reputation as a soft touch as regards transfers in or out. But to sell Nathan Collins now would send the message that they are once again a selling club and I suspect more of their best young players would leave as the reality of their situation becomes more apparent.

If he ends up at Burnley you'd imagine he would be around the first team, at Man Utd or any of the bigger sides I wonder if they would loan him back to us for a season?
Provided we were interested it would be another great season of experience for him and saves us the trouble of finding an immediate replacement.

I hope we dont sell him unless its for silly money if we do I cant see the point of loaning him back I'd rather start giving experience to Forrestor or Taylor as they would still be out players.

I think all (Stoke) players should be seen as a commodities, if it negates a FFP penalty.

I just don’t see Burnley a step up at all.. premiership football yeah but he has lots of years ahead of him.. if he himself thinks he can play for the bigger clubs.. he won’t go Burnley.. they could easily get relegated next season or anytime in the future.. he will hang on with us till one of the big boys come calling

Playing a handful of games in their relegation next and Burnley still getting £25m to £30m for him when they sell him to Arsenal/Everton or similar. It’s better for Stoke and his long term career if he stays here for another season, gets 30 or so games under his belt at CH, get into the Ireland squad then go to one of the big 6 or 10 next summer for £25m. At the end of the day if he goes to Burnley he is likely to play very little

He won't sign a new deal under the terms given and Burnley have decided to cash in while they can. This sale will more than fund his replacement too, and I think we should hold out for £15M + add ons before we sell. If we can afford to do that because of FFP is another matter though.
