I suspect he reported some sectarian abuse to the ref which is what he was talking to the managers about. He was getting dogs abuse might be more to come on this after the game.

I'd give him a break v Brentford play Verlinden He needs it. Don’t think he was overly decent either unlike what a lot seen to think. But again he looked leggy as you’d expect.

For James McClean?
Huddersfield fans had to be warned over the tannoy, regarding their discriminatary abuse of our player, just a couple of days ago. Today, Barnsley have been charged by the FA for the sectarian abuse of our wide man.
I'm genuinely surprised that there is no thread in support of James McClean near the top of this forum today. I know the issue has been done to death on here in the past. I can't help but imagine the uproar if one of our black players had been racially abused however. Personally, I struggle to see the difference.
If I have missed a thread then I apologise and I'm more than happy to be made to look a fool.

McClean has the vast majority of Stoke fans overwhelming support with his attitude, his bollocks, his commitment and his not inconsiderable talent and that's all that we can really control.
He shouldn't have to be put through what he does (and I have to say I had no stomach for one of his quotations a while back) but the bloke more than anyone in this wretched season is the one who has shown that we weren't on the road to oblivion, that at least someone had some fight and seemed to really care, at a time when I thought our whole team was full of shysters, wankers and tosspots, the most hated man in football (and I genuinely think he may be) has been our light at the end of the tunnel. There will always be idiots but I think he knows he's converted the majority here.

A lesser character would have kicked up a stink and disrupted the dressing room for being played out of position. Personally, I find James McClean's attitude and work ethic the perfect tonic for the ills of modern football. I'm very proud that he plays for my club.

Him winning over the majority of stoke support, both in regards to his personality and ability, is the feel good factor of the season.

I think admin have deleted that post and my reply as I pointed out it was an absolute disgrace to move a thread concerning the abuse of a Stoke player to the EE board. I made the point that a thread regarding the racist abuse of black Stoke City player, would never be moved to the EE board. They obviously realise I have a point as this thread is still here but just those two posts have been deleted as it doesn't reflect well on admin. This forum is called "Stoke City FC" yet threads about things such as the Sheffield United manager and gambling are allowed to stay, whilst a thread regarding the abuse of a current Stoke City FC player gets moved to the "Everything Else" board. Go figure. I await the culling of this post within the next half hour... EDIT Thanks for doing the right thing now admin. Much appreciated...
