We really don’t know how to bowl in the powerplay.
Wood and Jordan running in and bowling fast, ball going to all parts.
Jordan is a superb death bowler but he’s completely useless at any other stage in the game.

In other words yorkers or full and wide of off stump. Length balls just get hammered.

Much better over this from Jordan. Drying up the runs will bring wickets, you don’t need to go searching for them.

Worth a try with Wood to see if pace can do the trick, when he got smashed that was the moment to go death ball bowling. Poor captaincy from Morgan in those opening overs. We conceded about 15 more runs than we should have done.

SA finish on 222-6.
Pretty woeful effort by England with no one coming away from that with much credit.
9 wides bowled which for a T20 is criminal. Take the wides out and we’re chasing something under 200.

Take the wides out and we’re chasing something under 200. It was a bloody awful bowling performance - exemplified by those wides. Even our best bowler on the day (well, the only half decent one) caught the habit in his final over. So - down to the batmen.

Awesome batting from England. Chasing down 222 with near enough an over to spare. Bairstow and Buttler got us going, Morgan finished it with an awesome innings. Brilliant stuff.

Apparently that’s the fourth highest run chase of all time in T20 internationals. England’s run-rate was actually quicker than their best chase, 230-8 against South Africa at the last T20 World Cup. 11.79 runs per over today, 11.69 then.
Brilliant entertainment!!
Well done England 👍

I'm a Test man, and I prefer ODI/50 Overs to the T20 stuff but it is exciting isn't it That was a terrific little try-series. Bring on Sri Lanka
