Blackpool fans don't seem arsed about him leaving. 'Too lightweight' 'Not Championship standard' 'Idea's above his station' fansonline.net/blackpool/mb/view.php?id=3436984Unless that League has changed since we were last there, I remember it being a funny old league where certain players didn't shine but did at a higher level, so who knows? Jimmy OConnor and Clive Clarke being two players that I thought improved with the step up, as did Kavanagh.

Never heard of him, so I looked him up on wiki and found this comment - "Thompson is widely regarded as one of the worst players ever to play for the club, regularly being referred to as a "Pea-Hearted Charlatan" Merry Christmas

I've seen him quite a few times. Think Bryan Robson crossed with Roy Keane and a dash of Messi lobbed in for good measure. Lets sign him. 25 times?

Hallelujah. Young, hungry players on the up instead of over the hill plodders. Bring it on..... Exactly what Nathan Jones said he was going to sign.... And then crushed all our dreams by signing Vokes

Quite a few of the Blackpool fans I work with said he would leave Blackpool to follow MON to Stoke. The general verdict is that he is extremely mediocre most of the time and can have the odd cracker, but we are welcome to him.
Hopefully, MON can get him having more crackers though

I must admit I've never heard of him, it does have the feel of getting in to gear for 4 more years at this level or dare I say it the one below.

If there is any truth to this rumour, it's a big call by the manager. By now, he knows what he is facing with the motley crew that he has inherited, and this guy will be (possibly) his first signing for the club. The manager knows the player, and obviously likes him enough to make him his first buy.
A highly critical fan-base will be watching this kid like a hawk in his first few games, with some willing him to fail.
No pressure then!!!

May aswell get used to this type of signing. The days of signing inter fringe players are long gone. Hats off to Tony & jon, some effort that is 👏

Scott Fraser at Burton is definitely worth a look at. He’s having more than a decent season in midfield. Works wonders by any chance? Thought we'd had enough of diamonds

Well get use to this type of player, all thanks to the pathetic owners and their stooges. Shambolic doesn’t do them justice What do you know about him? Weren’t you one of the people moaning about our 28 yr average age squad?

I would imagine if we want him he will come given the link with Northern Ireland?. Where he would fit in is another matter.
