2.5 year contract instead of the ridiculous 5year deals theyve been trowing around. Hipefully our board are fiblly learning some lessons.
Not saying they would have the foresight to extend his deal if he turned into a world beater but its at least a start.

Sorry if already posted, seems half decent.. Looks very much a clucas alternative/replacement. He also does this weird thing, I’ve not seen it for a while, he passes, then actually moves, and moves into space.

I’ve seen a lot of Blackpool fans saying he falls over a lot.
Which if true could be fun with our accepting crowd 😂

I am bothered if he doesn't get up again, floor whoever decked him at the first opportunity and doesn't give the V sign to the semi precious fans who's gave him any abuse from the stands.

Sorry if already posted, seems half decent.. VERY left-footed from those highlights, isn’t he? Not that that’s a problem in itself of course.

MONs interview on the official site talks about Thompson providing more competition in the midfield area, competition to Clucas Allen Powell, Ryan woods????
Did he do the interview re Thompson before we let Woods go on loan?? Strange that be specifically referred to Woods when he’s already gone out

I remember seeing one of the best left footers in the world (Puskas) play at Stoke. I don't think many in the crowd even noticed that he had a right foot as well! Certainly, no one cared! When asked about being so left footed - his reply was that he could only kick the ball with one foot at a time!

The best right winger in recent England history was left footed who barely used his right foot ....Chris Waddle
It counts for nothing and the only problem with it is with those who want it to be a problem to back up their thinking

Like you say, it's probably down to it being relatively unusual which makes it so noticeable. It was just an observation, that's all.

No idea what it is but there definitely is. As for the whole one footed thing, I’ll never understand how any professional isn’t both footed.

McClean barely has a right foot but he's improved no end under MON and we don't complain about his work ethic. This bloke is known by MON so he clearly sees something in him. Give the bloke a chance. I spy he can play left back too

Welcome to Stoke Jordan, just grow a thick skin quickly as there are lot of so called fans that are already writing you off as shit without ever seeing you kick a ball. Good luck and I hope you turn into a star for us. Gouranga. You really think people want him to fail? That's not what I posted, I said there are some so called fans already writing him and saying he's shit, you only have to read through this thread. Some of these fans would have something negative to say if we signed De Bruyne. Gouranga.

Absolutely no idea how the will pan out. Inexperienced at this level but he's a good age, hopefully recognises this is a good opportunity for him and O'Neil knows what he can bring to the team having worked with him. Fingers crossed and I wish the lad well.

One for the future who the manager knows and on a short deal compared to some of the other shit we've bought lately on 4 and 5 year deals. This. And if he can play a part between now and May, then that's a bonus.
As for the contract, not only is it short(ish), but his wages have got to be lower than most of the rest of the squad, whether loaned out/for sale/retained.

I don’t get this professional player being one footed either, I was never a good player as I relied completely on being very quick I was right footed but was more than confident on my left and probably scored my better strikes off my left, that’s why Ince pisses me off.

They absolutely do. They're just two different roles, Ince used to work on the right cutting in because he lacks pace but could exploit space where as the style you reference pace is key as they're all about getting in behind instead of running at players like the Ince types... Just look at your own club and James McClean, it's his bread and butter. At the highest level you have Sane for Manchester City, Asensio for Madrid, Oyarzabal for Sociedad and that Jamaican lad in the German league whose name escapes me now. The difference in modern times is we've seen a lot of teams now play a back 3 or 5 and as a result these chalk on the boots types often get repurposed as wing backs because it makes logical sense.

The Jamaican lad is Leon Bailey. We were linked whilst he played for KRC Genk.
