Even the likes of Barca are not spending big money to bring Neymar back. Theres gonna be no big transfers and maybe a few cheap-ass loans. Etebo will realize his only chance at football this season is at Stoke and will give his all accordingly. He is one season away from the Premier League. Barca have been in the shit financially for a few years now. They do some right dodgy deals for all sorts of accounting reasons.

Would signing Mikel make Etebo more likely to stay I wonder?.. I can't see it mind, just a thought.

I just think if he can buy into what MON's doing here he's worth giving a second chance to. N'Diaye is a lost cause completely I'd say.

Fuck him off if hes doesn't want to give a minimum of 100% every game and if no one wants him then make him turn up and train with the U23's if he refuses fine him until he does. Twats like this are the reason we're in the shit we are. Gouranga.

If O’Neil has named him personally as a player who said he didn’t want to be here then there’s surely no chance he’ll be here next season.

Maybe they could all get along in one happy family of midfielders? It would be a remarkable bit of man management if MON pulled it off. It depends what type of player Etebo is, he might need a few familiar faces around him to settle. Mikel would be someone he could learn from and his experience would benefit him a lot. I don't expect him to stay but he is very talented and if there is an issue with him that we can work with then it would be great to keep him. Sometimes when a player asks to leave fans take it personally but perhaps it's more to do with him having no links around the club. It can't be easy for a foreign player, and some will struggle more than others and even more so when times are tough.

I like Etebo as a player but he'd have to come back on his hands and knees begging to play for Stoke City to ever have a chance of playing next season. There was a lengthy argument on here about O'Neill losing the plot by letting his two "best" midfielders go in the middle of a relegation battle. Well O'Neill won that argument hands down and no-one at the club is going to challenge his decision on this one. And if he doesn't want Etebo in the squad it's up to someone else to worry about how to get rid.

I gave to say I’m very impressed the way MoN is handling these situations

They can all get paid handsomely for not contributing as one happy family.

Jon Obi Mikel vs. Etebo? Come on MON this isnt so hard to fathom. We arent just going to loan out 7 unwanted players this season its patently clear. We need to make use of this bloated squad and not keeping adding more journeymen onto the pile. Is the answer, one wants to play for Stoke, the other couldn’t give a toss about Stoke?

Pete applauds on twitter - but don't suppose there's any future here for him? With Allen, JOM, Clucas and Powell, can't see MON finding a role for him even if he comes back 'committed'?

Five to rotate in 3 positions? It’s a long season but would ffp allow?

I watched him a few times for Getafe and playing at a much higher level he did a good job as a conservative wide midfielder. Getafe were always set up defensively and as a wide player he wasn't focused on beating people and getting a cross in, he was very defensive minded, tidy on the ball, but got forward to add numbers in attack. Tbh from what I saw he looked an MON type player, who'd do a job for us across midfield. Unless someone offers a few million we have to have him in the squad and consider him for selection, surely. I rate him, he should be ripping it up in this league when be plays.

If he can be persuaded I'd love him to stay, the chances are slim to none existent though.

I think both Etebo & Badou have burnt their bridges with MON. Hopefully both will either be sold or more likely loaned.

I like Etebo but I don't see where he fits into the team if he stays. Mikel, Clucas & Powell will likely be our midfield when everbody is fit.

A fully fit and motivated Etebo would replace McClean every day of the week for me. Way better going forward, faster more direct, would give team so much more. Not going to happen though.

McClean wants to play for Stoke, Etebo and his mate don’t. I’d be more than happy if we never ever see these two clowns again. Bollocks to the pair of them.

Is he still stranded in Nigeria, do we know? Wonder if there's any prospect of that changing? What's his situation now? I thought he'd be back for training albeit briefly

No rumours of interest for Etebo at this moment.
Personally would like him to stay this season and we will have a pretty decent midfield

We appear to have a slight embarrassment of rich’s in the centre of the work so what’s the process likely to do
I’d say loan Etebo for peanuts , then sell Clucas at the end of the window and find Allen breaks down it’s the stoke way 😏

Being at Stoke and how shit we have been for a while it was doing Etebo no good being here. He's a talented player, if we can get him to stay until at least the January transfer window because he wants to be here then it would be good for us. Mikel is someone who can help him grow and help increase his value.
