RIP Dudley
Back in the 80s he lived in Barlaston and knew my Gran. He helped sort her out with a football signed by all the team which she gave me for Christmas. As a youngster I was made up. Top man

Sorry to hear this. Dudley was part of the furniture during the 70s until his departure in 1985. His book ‘Who the hell was Dudley Kernick?’ Is a good read and one of the very few books about Stoke back then. I believe it was the Stoke City lottery as run by Dudley that Helped to pay for the Stoke End Stand. RIP.

I will always have good memories of him. As a youngster from Finland I visited Victoria Ground in the early 80’s. He was extremely friendly and helpful. He took me around and I was allowed to have lunch with the young kids (same age as myself). Still remember one of them was Stephen Bould. He also arranged an accommodation in the Keele uni dorm for my week. I guess not many foreign fans visited the place at that time.

Remember buying his book as a kid when saw it on the shelf below the top shelf in the local newsagents! Dont think I ever read it, just liked the pics of the the Vic on the front and rear & seeing a book with Stoke on wasnt a common thing in the late 80's/early 90's!

Part of Stoke City history RIP Dudley Yes. He was an important employee of SCFC back in the day. Ceramic City Clipper was one of his babies I think. Him and Micky Cullerton did some good work.

.... lovely, lovely man. Always took me under his wing when I was wandering aimlessly around the Vic after full-time. Always used to tell me at the time that he & Mike Trebilcock were the only two professional footballers to have come out of Cornwall. Incidentally Mike Trebilcock’s daughter is one of our staff
