Kev now saying that Batth isn't white either which opens up a whole can of John Walters! Seriously he should shut the fuck up. There's a lot wrong with the club at present but being racist in any way isn't one of them. A disgraceful slur against the club and his son's employers. Fucking idiot. There's hope for you yet 😎

Why not just erase the word black from history, that way we can all sleep a little easier, Can we call it white Friday or would that not be a full representation of the British population

I'm guessing you can't really win on this one can you unless what Kev and others are saying is that you can only promote Black Friday with white players. Is that what they're saying? This is the absurdity of this sort of thing. I remember H&M getting into hot water for using a black kid to model a hoody that said something like "the cheekiest monkey in the jungle". Now yes, if you want to focus on it there's an unpleasant (but unintentional) subtext there and you could maybe argue it was clumsy. But if you extrapolate the point what you're actually saying is "this garment is for the exclusive use of white children." H&M removed the image and fell over themselves apologising - if I'd been them I'd have said "no, this hoody is for all kids and we reject any association anybody makes between black people and monkeys."

Surely what we have here is the exact opposite of racism. Haven't all the struggles been about ultimately creating a world where no one sees or notices the colour of someone's skin. Effectively, that's what the marketing team are guilty of, not seeing or noticing the player's colour.
The poster should actually be celebrated, not derided. Whoever put the poster out is far less of a racist than anyone who seeks to find wrong in it.
That's my take anyway. No doubt Stoke will be forced to apologise and grovel.

I remember that well. Anyone with half a brain would have realised it was referring to the 'cheeky monkey' name kids get called.

Seems to me like they are trying to garner sympathy and attention for TC as his contract is running out

I hope that Kevin is just a bit thick and he's not creating false outrage so his son can hand in a transfer request. If it's the second one then he should be ashamed of himself.

Amazing that the club feel the need to respond to this, just because this garbage is coming from a player's dad.

The real irony is that to specifically not use black players to promote the event would be discriminatory and ultimately quite patronising.

Dont know about anyone else but him and his 60 min son are getting right on my tits. F them both off, far too much bad press with nothing on the pitch. I slated JM for the bad press he would bring but fair play he's been one of our best players this season.

I recently got into 'trouble' for using the word 'coloured', apparently not supposed to anymore. Strangely, today, I read a piece by Sir Trevor Phillips where he refers to "people of colour"...go figure

BUT.....did you see how the paper in Italy tried to walk it back? Outstanding/ragous as per your view. My view is Kevin Campbell is an absolute bellend If he is insinuating that having a picture of his son is related to a black friday offer the guy is a dick, pure and simple. The innocence of thought clearly interpretated incorrectly by a man clearly with such thoughts in his mind. He is the one with the thoughts of racism, not the club.🛎🔚

He seems to think Black Friday itself is racist. What the fuck is he on? There you go Kevin. Black Friday is the name given to the shopping day after Thanksgiving. It was originally called Black Friday because the volume of shoppers created traffic accidents and sometimes even violence. Police coined the phrase to describe the mayhem surrounding the congestion of pedestrian and auto traffic in downtown shopping areas.
